Basically, I have no idea if a Divine Journey server is happening. At one point it was, at one point it wasn't, so here I am to make a forum post to drum up support of one in case it was dropped! So to all people who I'm trying to convince, Divine Journey. What's up with that? Well, it's a modpack. A modpack with the goal to make infinite infinity ingots. Unlike the majority of the modpacks that are currently on the network, however, it is focused heavily on adventuring through its namesake mod Divine RPG. Divine RPG is a massive mod featuring eight new and unique dimensions, each with mobs, bosses, ores, and different tiers of loot to become more and more powerful. So, it's a pack where we kill stuff? Cool, but what about all that tech and magic stuff? Well, do I have news for you, this modpack has it all baby! Witchery, Thaumcraft, Botania, and Blood Magic for magic! Thermal Expansion, Minefactory Reloaded, Ender IO, and Draconic Evolution for tech! A lot of content, right? 800 quests in the quest book, and easy mode is expected to have 300-600 hours of gameplay. Not only that, its a hard mod. Over 1000 of the recipes have been modified to be, well, tough. Not Kappa levels of tough, but definitely harder than normal. The end goal is to craft creative gear, and it will take work in all of the different mods to get there. So, here's the thing. This modpack sounds sweet as all heck to me, and we're having a dearth of new modpacks on the MYM network, so let's drum up some support! If any of you want a new modpack, which features gameplay with both new and old gameplay, vote up or comment or whatever!
Just to note, the pack has 2 difficulty levels, one approximately between PO2 Titan and Kappa in terms of difficulty, and t'other quite a way harder than Kappa mode.
Short Answer: We're going to put up a Divine Journey server. Long Answer: While we intended to put the server up sooner life, well life happened. With a shift from updating and expanding the network, to the stability of the network being challenged by our friends at Mojang there was a shift in focus. In addition to this factors you have to consider the only ones capable of rolling out the servers are our founders and the administrative staff who are all rather busy. Between holidays, college semesters wrapping up, and that silly EULA we've not had time to sit back and push that button. You'll see some movement towards the server soon, don't panic it will happen.
Thoes that scream for a new server are the reason it's not getting pushed besides I personally want the eula crises solved first its the future of the network so please have a bit of patience and go grind on aoe or galatic sience
This whole "if you ask for it you won't get it" mentality is silly, but the thing is I asked because there was radio silence and one of the admins working on getting the modpack working left.
Also my post was a joke.. Obviously we need to wait for the EULA thing to be finished first. Besides, what if I would rather wait for a new modpack server than play one of older ones.
The thing is it's not a mentally issue it's the thing 8f constant reminder that you or someone else is screaming or something like it for a new server Try to put your self in a position like staff that can push said button when there's a potential network killer hovering above)(eula) I also want a new server but iam not done whit aoe
Have you played it ? like Is it annoying hard like kappa with lots of craft and the agricraft requirement ? Or more like many stuff to get and automate ?
So I've played hard mode and I gotta say, it's awesome. I absolutely hate the grind of hard mode, but Divine Journey does it in a fun way that's still easy. It's not as hard as you'd think to set up automation and to have plenty of resources to spare, but it is a tad bit annoying to start.
Fine, i will give it a shot in hard mode then, as soon as i am done with AOE (since i will probably be done after the server is out)
According to the pack creator the hard mode is harder than Kappa, but that might just be self-marketing. I leave that here: I played it for a week or so in Singleplayer and it is quite fun. But is also uses a lot of the Dimensions for progression, so it is centered around exploration. I like some of the mechanics in early game, for example a lot of recipes use seared bricks in some way.
Hard mode gets very grindy when you get to around botania/thaumcraft stages. The worst part of hard mode IMO is the heavy microcrafting you have to go through at the point a little before having access to reasonable autocrafting, where alloy smelters for example require ~5/6 subcrafts to produce, which can get quite annoying quite quickly. I ended up switching to easy mode for a while after getting annoyed at some of the grind in the magic mods, largely stemming from the need to make a powered spawner to get enough resources to make a powered spawner. A few things to be aware of for server use in hard mode, players will need quite a few machines including powered spawners running basically constantly in order to maintain the resources required for lategame. Endermen, for example, are needed in massive quantities, as are sheep and wisps to a lesser extent. The exploration of the Twilight Forest is also required for progress, so that dimension would probably require weekly resets if the standard 10000x10000 world is used.
Well, the twilight is banned here, so will it remains banned for this server? (I guess since it's performance issue) . Thing is "hard"on minecraft is really relative, i am kind of competitive player and i play only competitive game except Minecraft and Grinding is not what i consider as i hard, it is time consuming, not hard. Having to switch between different mods and automate them together is what i consider the "hard part". Also, i noticed lots of player tends to overdo everything, and it's worse in hardmore so server end up really laggy. I just discovered chugga's base on AOE, it's a monster of uglyness (well the building is pretty), just loading the base make the whole server lagg, and that's what i am kind of scared on hard server. Kappa was reasonable when i played but i played at early stage.
