I used to be a vary avid minecraft player, i could even say i was kinda addicted. I would play for hours, forgetting what time it is. Minecraft was a very big thing in my life. It was something i would look forward to during school, something i would be constantly thinking about and thinking what i should do or what to make. But now my whole view is changed, its been like this for a while. I have lost all interest in minecraft, having no desire to play it, i guess i just got tired of it. Has anyone else felt like this?
I go through Minecraft phases where I will play and play and play. I will play it non-stop and Minecraft will be all I really think about morning, noon and night. And then I will just get bored one day and not want to see or touch Minecraft for weeks or months at a time. Eventually, I come back and play non-stop again, but it really just comes and goes.
This happens to me all the time. There are time's when I force myself to play minecraft when im working as a staff member. The appeal of the game comes and goes for me. Although I am still here and enjoy the community When new packs come out I am usually more hyped about minecraft again. Its a cycle. I know how you feel.
Exactly how it has been with me as well. Can't be playing one game all the time. It will get boring. But for example I had taken around a 3 month break from playing minecraft and I'm back on it again and enjoying myself. And this time around I'm trying to not spend all of my time on it but rather find my gaming entertainment in other games as well.
I really feel for some of the staff members, alot of them kinda dont have a choice if they want to play or not, they have to.
That title only reminds me of the resource pack from Element Animation "Are you sick and tired of the default sounds in Minecraft?" or here
I have been tired of minecraft for a while and I want to get back into it but atm I get bored of it to easily what I hate. I am hoping when 1.9 modpacks come out I will be able to play minecraft like I use to.
I mostly haunt the forums, got bored to death by the same old 1.7.10 modpacks. Waiting for something new to come out, like those rumors of 1.10 modpacks.
Staff members are not really forced to play. They are encouraged to appear on different servers for a while, see how people are doing, but nobody forces them to play 8 hours a day on a modpack. There is also this game called reallife. It has a pretty cool graphic, incorporates some kind of levelup system, has Spice of Life and Hunger Overhaul already included. You can always try that if you get bored of Minecraft. Sometimes you even find players of reallife that join you in Minecraft when you decide to come back.
I just got back after a 12 ish month break (ftb monster was my last pack), before which I played nonstop for 10+ hours a day for several months, before which I also had a break. Minecraft comes in waves for me of maximum activity and no interest. usually new interest gets sparked by youtube videos.
Honestly there are a bunch of modpacks now for 1.10. Some that come to mind that have allowed me to regain my interest again after 5 months (sheesh.) are FTB Infinity Lite, Hermitpack and Skyexchange which I feel we are more than capable of running as a server, especially Skyexchange being just a skyblock map based around the FTB Retro pack. Hopefully it won't be too long before they decide to make 1.10 servers into a thing. Though I suspect the delay is due to a lack of plugins (Or at least stable working ones)
We have pixelmon 1.10! Though the delay is more about not having a cauldron for 1.10 everything is going forge based and that limits plugins that everyone enjoys.
I tried skyexchange, the whole idea of being based around FTB retro is just a fake thing to catch peoples attentions i think. I am a bit turned off by Better Questing to be honest. It might be a better mod than HQM from a technical point of view, but from a player's perspective it just feels uninspired. And the quests on the pack itself are just boring. If people don't put some effort into doing quests that are fun, they should just not use a quest system. The pack itself seems ok. I have been trying a lot of 1.7.10 packs lately, there are quite a good number of good packs out there, which unfortunately don't work in a environment like mym, but could use more attention. Just to name a few: Marooned (which is pretty awesome), Blightfall (awesome customized map), Void World, Obscurity, and those are just a few that come to my mind right now.
