So I have been doing some looking into new power generation methods for my base on the crackpack server, though this suggestion is for all servers with DE, and have found that the 2 highest tier forms of energy production is Mekanism's fusion reactor as well as Draconic Evolution's reactor. After finding this out I realized that I cannot do the Mekanism fusion reactor due to the requirement of the sun for the Solar Neutron Activators. That made my mind switch over to the Draconic Evolution reactor and all of its risks. Though through some digging within the config files of the mod I found an option that would most likely be in favor of all the players that use the mod Draconic Evolution.
I had asked staff about the blast of a draconic reactor on crackpack and they had said that the blast is not disabled. @_Lordicon can you confirm this? If I remember correctly you are the one that told me this.
The reactor is meant as an end game item that produces massive amounts of energy and the mod creator made it so that there is also some risk that comes along with such great power. If it gets disabled then there is no risk and people could just build multiple draconic reactors and power the entire server with no problem. I know the reactor needs awakened draconium but that stuff isn't hard to get at all so the "meltdown" balances it out. I also like things that go boom boom
I like big explosions as much as the next guy but i think it might be slightly taxing for the server to have some crazy player (hello pooh!) explode 10 draconic reactors for 'fun'
The blast setting is turned down to the smaller explisions. It will still destroy about a chunks worth of stuff.
If it's already turned down a bit, why not just go the whole mile and disable it in the config down to a simple tnt explosion
Because their are two options, big explosions on or off. Not explosions on or off. Just the size of the boom when you mess up.
for me only the core vanished when i used them few month ago on infinity normal. but ic2 reactors did damage within a radius of ~32 blocks. but for the mekanism reactor you could setup the neutron activators in another dimension which has daylight. or just an ae2 quantum ring with p2p tunnel for daylight
Though that would require me to chunkload another area for even more tickets. Yes, but the size of the explosion is about a chunks worth like you said, though if you disable the big explosion in the config its the size of a tnt explosion.
I think you are confused. Big explosions are about a 16 chunk radius. The small explosions are about the size of an ic2 nuke
Making a nuclear power plant blow up similarly to a microwave with a fork in it is not a good idea. Massive amounts of energy with the downside of making a cool little firework display if something goes wrong? A demo of what the future Draconic Evolution Reactor Looks like:
