Done how can i get squids to spawn in my island?

does anyone know how can i make so squids would spawn i made a pool 4x4x4 but they weren't spawning.
~i have seen treads of other people but i never understood what should i do so they would spawn.

 

Is your pool built between y levels 46 and 64?

 

yes it is

 

Depends on the Server's world type, Skyblocks that typically use a Super Flat template, and this sets the Water Level to 0, so you can't get Squid to spawn - they need to be below the Water Level to spawn. So it's a Server thing, sometime the Admins can add a custom recipe though.

 

you see i need a squid to make the ring of flying squids or is there another way to make it?

 

IF you want squid you can make a "Squid bait" its 2 fish in the crafting grid next to each other. The output will look blank (something is bugged with the mod) but if you click the output anyway you will get the item. Place that in the water and then stand a good bit away (can't remember how far exactly) and squid should start spawning.
Here is some more info about the bait. Basically you need to put the bait in a pool of water, stay at least 6 blocks away from it until spawning happens, and tehre cant be other animals nearby. Bait
