Project Zone 2 Normal So I thought I was well prepared, I have full draconic armour, all upgraded with max shield capacity and with protection 4 and soulbound on every piece. I have a soulbound staff of power, with sharp 5 and max damage upgrades at +400 attack damage. I have a maxed draconic flux capacitor (stores 2.1 billion rf) and I have a pretty good tinkers crossbow, about 100 or so damage to withers and stuff. (I also have the epeolatry singularity sword +999 damage from a reward bag). But no, I go in hit all the crystals on the top of the pillars, then just get 'Your attack is blocked by the guardians crystals!'. So I carry on flying around in circles hitting the crystals to make sure they are dead, but no, still can't damage it. So then it starts killing me despite still full capacitor and I lose 7 lives to it before i can tp away with my charm of dislocation. How on earth can I kill this thing?
The crystals tend to get bugged up. I strongly recommend you to either chunkloader the entire area or by setting a point there with your charm of dislocation. You can then go in, do a crystal round and go back to spawn for example. Wait 2 or 3 minutes and tp in again to hit the crystals again. Loading and unloading the chunks helps as some of the crystals are sometimes bugged and you can't see them then as active but in fact they are.
Alright I'll try that later, I need to build up a bunch of lives again, is there no fix to it taking lives without you dying?
I haven't tried this myself on a pack with lives. I am speaking out of my own personal experience on Infinity. I hope someone else might be able to take a look into that.
Chaos Guardian's are much harder than the Chaos Dragon's... They may look the same, but the fight against the Guardian is much more complex and difficult... With the Chaos Dragon's using a ranged weapon with good damage makes the fight rather easy depending if you can fly or not, and many times you may not even need to destroy any crystals... The Chaos Guardian's have far more health and regen, and the pillars are key... As Stijn mentioned, the Guardian crystals sometimes bug out... Even folks with God mode can be killed by the Guardians... One thing I've learned is that the fight is much harder the more people you have helping you, because the Guardian likes to switch targets a lot, so it makes it much more difficult if folks are spread out... I did it on ozone 1, three different ways, first i tried gorilla tactics, where i flew around and destroyed all of the crystals before loading the chunk with the guardian in it, then damaging it, and each time it respawns some crystals i just destroy them again since you can 1 shot them with a good crossbow. but i was able to beat it that way because i got lucky and the only glitching the crystals did was visual the second way i did it i would not recommend at all: my lives got glitched out so that the game though i had over 200 lives (not on purpose) and i used a soulbound charm of dislocation to tp in each time i died and just kept suicide bombing it. This took a lot more time and recorces tho since I was too lazy to Soulbound my Katar the third way i set rail-gun turrets on top of each of the crystals and filled them with ammo (each turret does around 5000 damage per shot) and killed it that way i should note i did all 3 times with gem armor not draconic armor (doesn't really matter either way tho, they are both around the same strength it just doesn't require charging)
You should have another player running around blasting the crystals. Use ranged or melee weapons to kill the guardian, it's your choice, as the only thing you need to be BEWARE of its the dark energy beam. I think there is something gives a bit or more of protection from it. Think it's in one of those magic mods, thaumcraft, botania, witchery or blood magic.
That explains why I never had any trouble with it, whenever I wasn't sure which crystals were back I would just lead the guardian to an unloaded chunk and shoot each of the pillars again. I knew when I found one when there was an explosion.
Would definitely recommend chunkloading the entire area. Stops the dragon from glitching out, Getting stuck underground or out in the abyss somewhere, and stops the attacks from randomly coming at you while you're moving around
Basically, have draconic armor (I had no upgrades when doing it for the first time, in which case just fly upward while the shield recharges), have a TiC crossbow, shoot all the pillars (assume the crystals are invisible) and then shoot the chaos guardian. Congratules, you win!
