    Hello MineYourMind!
With the relatively recent changes on how chat works lately, there has been a need for a guide and a written list of commands. Here is how to chat!

    Keys
    <arg> = Required Command Argument
    [arg] = Optional Command Argument

    Commands Full List of Commands
    • /channel <channel_id> [message] - Send a message or switch to a chat channel.
    • /msg <player> <message> - Send a private message to a player.
    • /reply <message> - Quickly reply to last private message received.
    • /omsg - Sends an offline private message to a user.
    • /optoutmsg - Lets you "opt-out" of a group private message you are in.
Command Aliases Full List of Command Aliases
    • /channel = /c
    • /msg = /m, /tell, /w, /whisper, /message, /pm
    • /reply = /r
    • /omsg = /offlinemessage
    • /optoutmsg = NONE
Channel IDs You can talk in any the channels by typing a the channel id then the message. Example: /global Hello
    • local = /local, /l
    • localold = /localoldmc (For Minecraft versions 1.12 & 1.7 Only)
    • global = /global, /g
    Group Messages How-To Group Message

To send a group message, simply use the /msg command with a list of players to send to, separated by commas.

    Example: /msg <user1>,<user2>,<user3> <message>

The message sent in chat will have a small ([+N]) postfixed to the recipient name to indicate how many players are in the group. Hover over the name to see the full list of players in the group, and click the name to paste the full /msg command into your chat window.

The /reply command also supports replying to a group message. If you receive a group message from user1, user2 and user3, you can reply to all of them by using /reply <message>.

If you're stuck in a long or spammy chain of /reply messages, you can use /optoutmsg to silently leave the conversation.
Chat Inline Formatting Types of Chat Formatting

    Extra Info Quarks
    • Group private message limit is set to 5 players
    • Chat channel ids for the command /channel are TAB complete-able
    • /msg usernames are tab complete-able when the user is online
    • Offline messages have a cooldown of 60 seconds between messages to prevent spam
    • Users get their offline messages about 1 minute after logging into a server
    • Localold is needed on older Minecraft versions as a solution to not allow the proxy to handle the chats. This chat channel acts as a passthrough which makes the backend server handle the chat. Newer servers do not do this.
    • Chat formatting is limited to the respective premium ranks that we offer
    Additional Notes
    • Patrons will be getting their own chat channel soon
    • /gtoggle commands is not on the list yet as it breaks frequently
    • More features are in the works
    • This does NOT include chats from FTB Teams. That is a mod that may or may not be in certain packs.
    • /friends is coming soon!

Overall, this should give everyone a really good understanding on how to chat here on MineYourMind as it has completely changed pretty recently and I think a post like this is needed. Our Wiki will soon reflect these changes as I work on updating a LOT of things.
