    [DOUBLEPOST=1441903793,1441902950][/DOUBLEPOST]just by looking at the quest book this modpack seems its all about blood magic with some other mods on the side but sadly cont play it atm cus my gpu just burnt out and this lags my apu :( so as soon as i get a new one i will start playing

    Questline i played : Up to the iron quest so far

    How i think the rewards are : their fair for starting out

    How i think the time needed was : Pretty fast up until the iron oreberry quest, of which will take HOURS of afking to get one oreberry, i really, really want a watering can we can make using netherrack and a (suggested) 8k LP, so we can speed up these thing's growth rates to a reasonable level

    Did it feel grindy? at the moment? no, not really

    Any notes? as i was typing this an iron bush started to grow ironically, other than that the hardcore darkness is annoying, can't see anything without holding a torch or having one placed down, thankfully you give us torches immediately

    The oreberries are indeed a thing. Problem is they only grow with the watering can and i dont want to put a whole mod in just for one item. Still looking for a solution ;)

    The hardcoredarkness contributes a lot to the mood of the pack in my eyes. Esp. combined with dynamic lightning and upcoming bloodmoon. If its a problem for many thoo, we will take a look at it ofc. :)

    The pulser from MC works and the sigil of green groove... making quests right now :)

    Caithleen if you don't want to add a whole mod with tons of items then why you don't add this mod with just the item you need :)

    Questline i played :

    - The first one (for getting started) up to translocators and coal making now.


    How i think the rewards are :

    - So far I think the rewards pretty much gives you what you will need for moving on with the questline.

    - One little point about this though: Maybe add 1 enderpearl right before the translocator, so you can craft your very first one without trying to hunt for an enderman in the state where you just started to slowly get your iron armor/sword. (especially with the darkness mod which makes the hunt even more dangerous)


    How i think the time needed was :

    - For the beginning it's pretty nice. Only timesink I saw so far was waiting for the iron-ore-berries to finally grow. But when you spend the time with other stuff (like getting wood for your first hut or so) it's all okay.


    Did it feel grindy?

    - Not at all up to the point.


    Any notes?

    - I'm wondering if it's meant to be, that slabs no longer block light (tested with the slabs of red cobblestone). Makes the whole setup for ore-berry-bushes and a possible early-game manual-monsterfarm a bit more difficult to set up.

    - I kinda love the darkness-mod. Makes it really moody which fits so well with the setting of the modpack. Though as mentioned aboth the early enderman-hunting gets very very dangerous this way.

    - And I'm happy that the first night will not be a total mob-avoiding. So far I only met a single spider near my little 1-torch-base. (actually not sure if that's meant to be this way)

    - The text for making your first redstone-block speaks about lava, but the recipe needs a bucket of life essence.

    - There are some recipes using iron-ore-berries which probably needs to be disabled/changed. Besides the "smelt 1 for 3 iron" the recipes for making 1 iron with 9 berries and smelting 1 berry into nuggets (in other machines) are still in. A bit confusing at first.

    Thanks for the feedback, diamond is now doable via T2 (former T3) altar, so you could go coal->diamond->emerald->ender pearl. not cheap but possible :)

    Ill look into the rest.

    - Just ended with Chapter 1


    How i think the rewards are :

    - All seem well so far. I didn't miss anything important that would have taken too much time to moving forward with what I'm doing.

    - Only thing that was missing, was the 1 steel-ingot (for making osmium) to craft the metalluric infuser of mekanism. Had to cheat that one in.

    How i think the time needed was :

    - The usual Blood Magic time you need to get started
    Crafting slates, sacrificing life and healing up if you don't know about using the tank/refractory hopper (see notes)


    Did it feel grindy?

    - Not much out of the ordinary, once you know the beginning ways of pushing all the blood of the world into your altar even less then normal, seen on blood magic's slow start.


    Any notes?

    - Maybe give in the quest-texts a hint how to correctly use the mekanism-tank to directly push blood into the altar (shift-right-clicking on the top of the altar, using the configurator to make it autoeject).
    I think this would help especially newer players who don't know too much about the mechanics, of pushing blood into it instead of sacrificing your life, yet.
    (took me a while to figure out how the tank can be used directly, until I noticed that it actually has to be on the top because it only autoejects to the bottom)

    I'm twisted about this though. Maybe it's good to let the people try out stuff themselves.
    But for people who're new to bloodmagic or mekanism it really could take out some of the early game "Sacrifice and heal up again"-aspect, when they don't know about it. Especially since you need alot more blood than in "normal" blood magic with the new recipes.

    - I really like the implementation of the "Foundry"-mod. It looks like a nice mod, especially with the refractory hopper for liquids.

    Not really feedback but just a general question. Is there any possibility of getting iguana tweaks/extra tic added to the pack? I think it would fit well since there is lots of progression and remaking the tools with each of the new materials would be a pain. Also with foundry it would allow for a bunch of cool material combinations.

    Ah thanks. See there my mind was away for a moment when I wrote the text.
    I thought I remember getting the osmium-seeds in the infuser-questline (so the first way of getting it would be steel -> osmium in the blood altar). Guess my mind loves to play me tricks :D

    Ok, here is something I noticed. The quest Personal Blood requires you to detect a weak blood orb. The problem is I bound it to myself and it wont detect it. It has to be an unbinded one. Should it be like that? Because its annoying when you realize that, you need to make another one.

    yeh thats the annoying thing with blood magic it has to use nbt data for your bond orb and hqm doesnt detect it

    As little between questlines-played-feedback from me:

    I really like the early access to the "Sigil of the Grove", it makes the agricraft-raising of your plants alot faster (alot faster than the irrigation would increase it). So takes away quiet a bit of the "Raising the plant"-waiting. I like that :)

    A little update, still working alot on the setups for blood altars and power generation.

    The quest for the 13 tier3 runes really help alot of getting past the grindyness of getting from tier 3 to tier 4. Great quest :)

    One thing concerning servers I noticed:
    I only know if from regrowth, so I don't know if that counts for all mym-servers. It's the "chunk slowdown" in the server. Where only the chunk you're standing in works at full speed.
    This could cause a big problem since you need to plan for more than 1 blood altar and the tier 5 one is already bigger than a chunk (17x17). Not sure how this effects the blood altar itself.

    I find myself planning for 3 blood altar at the moment. One tier5 for blood generation, one tier 5+ for crafting and one for my orb (since it seems the altar-manipulator for automation and refilling your orb don't work together, which makes things complicated).
    So maybe some sort of chunk loading (like spotloaders) would be quiet needed for a server, since pressing the blood altars you need all in 1 chunk might end up a very difficult thing to do.

    I am not doing this in the reg format, i'm doing this because the server is kinda being annoying, i got kicked for a "fatal error" and now i can't join for another minute, can there be a fix for this or is this actually necessary?
