The new chunk-loading system to me, on hypolvoemia ONLY, is kind of bad, there is a reason for this, and that you are being forced into voting to be able to do just about anything in this pack after a point, due to the fact that you are forced into blood (at this point in time) as your only power source (other than complex botania setups, or a GIGANTIC charcoal farm with a lot of coal plants as well) so i find this unfair as most new players even, will quickly have to place chunk-loaders and will be turned away when this pack comes out as chunk-loading is a necessity for early to late game in this pack
Asking the player to vote for the server (give a little back) is too much for some chunk loading that can be quite resource hungry? What else can there be to give a little back?
i'm talking that it's such a small strain, yes i understand, but if there could be something to tell if there's not alot going on in said chunk to the point of, it's litterally 4 pumps in the nether, it's such a miniscule ammount that 1 day's votes can last you the next week (some people have teams you know, and they can leave for vacation) OR for around another 4-5 hours of coding (my estimate) if the chunkloader is in a claim that someone else is trusted on then they also can pay for it (optionally), but that's just an idea
that is already the way. It gets more expensive when there is more going on in the chunk. Hence chunkloading just a few pumps is quite cheap.
In that case both users should be able to place an iron block (one on top of the other) and whoever is online's tickets will be used. If player A is online, player B's chunkloader will not be active, but Player A's will. It would just cost the extra 9 iron (or gold) for each person you have on your team. Yeah, it's a little clunky, but not something that needs more complications to solve, IMO.
They can be controlled by redstone, so a lever could stop that, but I do see your point of it being a chore.
Player detector. Computercraft. Any sort of Redstone set-up. Manually flipping the lever when you come online. There are options, they aren't as pretty, but there are options.
on hypovolemia? player detector is in an area, computecraft isn't on it, redstone setups for in the nether? lol
Or railcraft isn't there any chunk loading option on the server? And it is a cauldron setup with 1 chunk per player?
