Whenever I try to launch certain modpacks, Hypovolemia being one of them, I get a warning window saying "You are using an old Java version, and should update to 1.8 or newer." Is there a way of changing this in the launcher at all? I've never really worked with java.

Java SE Runtime Environment 8 - Downloads click this and download the appropriate version of java, this is to make sure that minecraft doesn't crash, also you should remove OLD java versions, like, really old ones, to prevent getting malware & the like on your computer

I've updated Java multiple times within the past few months and the "check for update" java tab said it was last updated in 2014... Thanks Java.

oracle's been sued and lost in a class action lawsuit over this, you might want to browse your system and remove old java versions
