I can barely run ferret business and it is unplayable My graphics card is a gtx 960m and the processor is an intel i7 4785t at 2.2 ghz. is there anything i can do to help this? i have 8 gigs of ram if that matters
you are not alone, i can barely run it with 4 gigs of ram. Last night i went to log in to keep my claim alive, stayed online for about 10 seconds and then it just crashed. didn't even have a chance to grab a strongbox of bee stuff nearby. I'm trying to gather my things together so that i can take a 2 or 3 week vacation and start building a new base from scratch. But with all the lag its taking awhile. I can barely move and i'm lucky if i can get 3 fps, let alone the minimum sustained 5 fps i need to take off in morph. My base was built for flight, and now i can't fly getting up it is very hard.
how long has this been happening and is all your stuff update to date (driver and java wise) sounds like you might need fastcraft since ferret is 1.7.10 optifine might help as well
this has been happening since i got my computer on christmas. i have the newest geforce drivers and my java should be up to date EDIT: Java is definitely up to date as i just checked
for me its been happening since they removed matter overdrive. I had a system from it making nether stars (massive power drain buttpain) and a ton of weapons plus an android charger and station setup for guests. but thats neither here nor there, it got progressively worse until I crashed after about 10 seconds. ;.;
Your CPU isn't the fastest and Minecraft runs mainly off of it. It's probably bottlenecking your system to a certain extent. Are you having this issue with other packs with similar amount of mods?
yeah try to overclock your cpu if you can because i can run 1.10 with 180+ mods with a mac... and thats say considering a gtx should be stronger
how would i do that?[DOUBLEPOST=1489881064,1489880400][/DOUBLEPOST] i dont know as i only play ag2 atm. i can test with another pack but which do you want me to use?
Afterburner | MSI Global try this and if doesent work then try Download Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) dis one
now its not letting me open it because it says the file may be unsafe to open EDIT: nvm figured it out[DOUBLEPOST=1489898079][/DOUBLEPOST] its open but i have no clue what to do
GTX960m is a mobile model, used in gaming notebooks. Your notebook likely has two graphics cards in it and Nvidia drivers are incorrectly making Java use your integrated graphic card instead of your GTX. I do have notebooks with dual graphic cards and used to have similar issues. To configure your Nvidia drivers to use your GTX with Java, do the following: 1) Find which Java installation is being used by your modpack: You might have multiple Java versions installed on your machine, so either register them all, or find out from your launcher which installation it uses when it's running Minecraft. You find that information in (MyM, Curse, FTB) launcher, under options. Here's screenshot from my MyM launcher (sorry for ugly screenshot but it does not allow resizing the window), the launcher is using Java installation located in: c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_66\bin\java.exe: 2) Go to your Nvidia control panel (right-click on your windows desktop) > Manage 3D Settings > Program settings tab. Add the exact Java executable shown in your launcher (e.g. if you launcher shows javaw.exe instead of java.exe, add that one), then configure it to use the High-performance NVIDIA processor, which is your GTX. Again, screenshot from my machine: Once you've done that you can check if the graphic card is being used by: a) Your Nvidia control panel (usually minimized in your toolbar). Looks like this: b) In-game by pressing F3. But this only works for newer Minecraft versions (1.7.10 does not report it), or in case there's a mod that does that (e.g. Botania). Not sure what version or mods are in Ferret business. Hope this helps. Lach
Thanks for the help, but my jvm path is blank when i go to the java menu in options. What do i do to find the version of java and get it in?
Find a Java installation in your Program Files directory and copy-paste the full path to java.exe to your Mym launcher options. Then add the same path to the Nvidia configuration as described above. If you have more Java installations, pick one that starts with 1.8.0. You might still have some that start with 1.7.0. The path on your machine will most likely be something like: c:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_66\bin\java.exe, just the _66 might be lower or higher number.
its nor giving me the option to use the nvidia processor. it just skips to the 3rd thing Also, is there a way for me to allocate more ram to the modpacks in the launcher/the launcher itself?
