Hello, There is a rule conflicting with the recently implemented 2 week claim rule (I'm gonna call it a rule on this thread for easier writing) on the B-Team server. Right now, if you leave the B-Team server and come back after 2 weeks you'll find your claim removed and your base open to be raided/destroyed. This is as (you may already know), used to keep the overworld clean and rid of empty/unused bases. Now, the problem is with this anti-grief rule: Items which obviously belong to another player may not be destroyed or moved without permission. This rule conflicts with the 2 week claim rule because you (following the anti-grief rule) still cannot destroy bases. A normal player wouldn't know what to do because the rules haven't been updated yet (provided they even read the rules and follow them) this would be a problem. For example: A player-1 is hosting/overseeing a town and hasn't been on for a while(let's say, 1 and a half weeks), player-2 (a newbie, rookie)also hasn't been on for a while but player-1 knows he hasn't seem player 2 for a week before he (player-1) went off the grid. Now player-1 has to make a choice. Now 1 and a half weeks have past and player-one gets back on. He notices player-2's claim being gone and has to make a choice. Either remove the house to make room for new players and risk getting banned or leave the house because he/she's afraid of getting banned. Now, it looks like a big situation here in text but IRL this wouldn't be a huge problem since i've heard from a mod what staff would do if something were to happen. IRL this wouldn't be a big deal but i would cause a bit of confusion for people like me who actually do look and listen to the rules. Gheez, such a long post for such a minor inconvenience Well, my suggestion is you look at the rules and change them (or don't) Also please do correct me if i'm wrong, never a bad idea to learn from mistakes From your friendly moderator-wannabe --YoItsShizuko
Your not aloud to take stuff that doesnt look like world gen, even if its after 2 weeks, i dont see the issue here. This rule is not true to my understanding Firstly /absent increases that to 4 weeks The 2 week thing works as when a player hasnt been on for more than two weeks it should regen the chunks the claim was in putting it into a completely new chunk if not chunkloaded
The B-Team server's overworld has been reset alot of times because of unused claimed bases. the 2 week rule was implemented to counter this. As far as i'm concerned(and everyone on bteam) i can take down buildings if i know someone hasn't been on for 2 weeks
But that still counts as grief, the network has a system to regen the chunks claims are in to normal, the 2 week rule has been implimented as long as it has had the claim plug in, it was not just because of bases Also Most of those resets may not of been because of that reason
You are not allowed to take any stuff from other players, doesn't matter if they are active or inactive. The deletion of inactive claims does also reset the chunks which leaves nothing behind, in the most cases.
But here's the problem. i oversee a town of 5-7-ish people. Does chunk-regenning also work here? (With here i mean in a 200ish block radius that people frequently visit?)
Since other people also live there, they might have claims in chunks wherein others might have a claim older than 2 weeks. What i'm asking is if the regen will work in those areas aswell.
Alright, my questions are answered. I should've started this thread somewhere else since it doesn't really fit here. Oh well, i hope you guys don't mind. Thanks Slind, SirWill and SirStudMuffin for helping me out. Your friendly moderator-wannabe --YoItsShizuko
afaik you can also only claim that close if you trust each other. and if you are trusted to the claim of a inactive person you can ask for a claimtransfer, and they'll unclaim the area for you to claim. Which keeps you safe from worldgen. anyway i suggest to keep 1 chunk of distance even to your neighbour claim (just fill the area with some roads/trees in case of a town)
