so I may have asked this before but I don't remember if I got an answer so sorry about that. Basically just asking, is it safe to put ME drives in alchemical bags? They store things more like vanilla enderchests and not like golden bags of holding. So I would think if it safe for vanilla enderchests then it would be safe for alchemical bags.

TLDR: if I put a drive in an alch bag will I crash?

If I remember correctly you can't store me drives in any portable storage besides your inventory or you will crash

Don't do it. Will cause your data to overload. Worse part is, if you do it with those bags, we can't recover the drives.

Aight I can probly remember that. So that means that vanilla enderchests are also not safe right? But enderstorage chests are still safe right?

vanilla ender chests ARE safe, not sure about ender storage ones though
(tried and tested back form when i had to store my base in an ender chest because i was on a PVP voltz server)

Vanilla ender chests are not safe.
It is stored on the player file, while the ender chest from Ender Storage saves them in a diferent location.

I remember storing tons of 64k/16k drives inside an enderchest and nothing bad ever happening (yes i did fill the entire enderchest inventory

Then you got very lucky, that doesn't mean that it is safe, like mouro said the vanilla enderchest data is still part of your playerdata so you can cause nbt overload corruption if you try to store too much.

Technically it is entirely possible to store a few drives in a golden bag and even put that golden bag into an me system, then put that drive into another bag, inside a bag, inside a bag, inside a vanilla chest, picked up with a dolly inside another bag etc and STILL not crash, it just depends how much total data that ends up as... honestly the reason MyM recommends not even trying nested storage like that is cause why take the RISK?

Overflowing your NBT is a bad idea, best case scenario is it takes me time to repair your file, worst case you do something like shove them into alchemical bags and you lose your entire inventory. Either way you are now on my list of silly pants players who I make raspberries at.

Would a DSU filled with DSU's that is filled with DSU's full of cobblestone destroy my playerfile (or even the fabric of space time)

brandonlk, at some point, it goes beyond saying "what if" and turns ridiculous. That's when we get @wyndman to call you a silly pants.

DSU's dont stack once you put something in them so you couldnt put multiple fillled DSU's in the same DSU in the first place, also DSU's don't take up much nbt data at all since it's just itemID of contained item + quantity of that item so a single chest with like 5+ different items in takes up more data that a DSU with 2,000,000,000 of one item in it.

..and yes I know you weren't actually being serious but I like to nerd out over game mechanics from time to time ;)

Would still be nice to have that much cobblestone as a permanent feature on my player :p
