Can anything be done about the spawn rates? To put it in perspective, once each night, one random player -might- be picked. (0-1 meteors a night) If they are in the overwold a meteor falls, if not nothing happens (8 players on server 1/4 currently in OW, 0-0.25 a night) If they are not within 100 blocks of sand or dirt (eg ocean, BoP special biome (eg crags)) no meteor falls. (0.15 a night) They are darn hard to spot to begin with except in a desert or field (0.07ish found a night) Seriously, I spent all day yesterday online (day off work) and none fell on me, also flew about all day looking for it. Found zero. I covered approx 50% of the map with trueseeing and night vision spells up so I could see clearly. In order to make them drop in a predefined location -if- they drop near you, you require 9 moonstone to make the sigil of lunar tides in the first place. As someone who uses the AM2 mod almost exlusively, this is rediculous. Its been almost 2 weeks, and found zero moonstone. The mod was designed for co-op play and people being clustered, with fewer people online. I'd settle for a rediculously expensive crafting recipie for it, unless someone knows another way to get it...
No, the chance is totally random. There may be a config option but I highly doubt it. It is what it is, ask around or just deal with it is all I can say.
"No, the chance is totally random." Incorrect. Chance of formation is based on moon phase (more likely full moon) however rest is as I say (one player total per night, within 100 blocks radius, can only drop on grass/dirt, sand and maybe gravel, and need open access to the sky). This is based off forum post replies made my the mod creator, Myth. Yes its AM2, and if it doesnt have a stat in the mod, then a recipie would seem the only choice for adding in some. I'd suggest aum also as the witchwood trees need AM2 liquid essence to grow for aum farms along with something hard to get such as a nether star or ghast tears to represent their rarity. Or maybe some of the purified vintium dust, as that uses blue orchids and desert novas which are also AM2 flowers, along with vintum the AM2 ore. finding the novas is time consuming and farming requires a red level AM2 utility spell, the vintium ore has to be mined etc which is time consuming early game and arcane ash which requires nether materials.
