A piece of history It all started in 2012 when the first villager spawned on MineYourMind servers. Not too far from it was a witch in her hut. She knew how things were around these places, she knew who is better than who and she knew she had to prove it to the whole server. So she was plotted and waited to make us all see what Minecraft was really made for. The first baseball games started soon after. It took a year to find enough sponsors and to train all the players but the leagues were ready and determined to show the whole server who is the best. Back to the present This last game was set at the new stadium in the End and was important as a tie breaker between the Villagers and Witches, two of the best Overworld baseball teams. The dragon could be seen from a distance but it did not stop the game from being the main attraction. The wind was silent, it was freezing cold and all of the fans were forced to stay in their seats. The few endermen who wandered off were swiftly taken care of by guarding iron golems. Some believe that the Villagers won this season only thanks to the borrowed Zombie Villager after their star player fell into the void. In the end they were able to secure this last game of the season with these extra set of arms and a golden sword. We managed to grab a hold of the manager of the Villagers team for a few short comments after the deciding game. Despite winning it was not all sunshine and poppies for the Villagers team. They had to overcome quite a few obstacles, their lack of arm movement included. Overall, their managers were happy about the progress they made during this season and are hoping for an even better one next season. After the game, and one of the worst flops in baseball history, the Witches team core six players gathered and made a promise to their fans: it would never happen again. The whole team, as well as their leader, and many fans were in tears at the end when all hope was lost. The Witches were good but in the end they lost. Their offense was nice and dynamic. No one expected to see Smoky, their black cat mascot, to charge in at the end for the final round. But even that could not ease the stress on the team’s weakest aspect. Just as we all suspected, the Witches lost because all of their bats flew away.
The next season will begin soon so let's hope we get all the voting done by then. Who's ready for it?
