I think there should be way, how to opt out from getting player data back. This way, player can tell if he wants his player data from 31.1.2016 back or not. This should maybe decrease the load of work for staff caused by rollback. Default should be that player wants his player data back. I would like to hear if this is possible from staff. I personally don't want to get another inventory and TC4 research progress change, so I would like if my current player data remained and wasn't overwritten by player data from 31.1.2016. I don't want to cause any trouble, so I will not argue with staff if it will be necessary to make change to player data, but if it isn't, I would like to keep my player data stable. (Tell me if you suspect that I want that for bad things, I can explain and prove my good intentions) Normal players, you can opt out here.
Quiet to contrary, it would increase the workload and not decrease it. This is due to the fact that every player that posts here I would need to search for their UUID and exempt that from getting rolled back. It is just easier to do it all or not at all.
I can give you mine UUID and I volunteer to check UUID of each player that post his request to opt out here.
I still have to search for every UUID in the playerdata file. Im not going to do that, unless another admin volunteers, ATM if we roll it back it is all.
Can that rollback be announced some time before? I want to put my items into chest to not lose and of course, I will destroy items gotten due to rollback. Tomorrow afternoon I may try to make some kind of Python utility to sort those files.
