Pixelmon Update

I know that a lot of players have been wanting an update for pixelmon, including me, so I am making this post to a) see how many people do/don't want to update and b) to let players know if it will be updated or not, and c) to explain some pros/cons about updating.

I know that if we update from 1.7.10 we would need a new map restart, which isn't all bad. but the newer the version we use the higher the playerbase will be. if we manage to update to the latest we can expect to see a flood of new people. In the more recent updates of pixelmon they have merged pixel utils in about 90% of it. the armors and tools and a few other points. updating would also help fix some bugs that are here.

If we update I would not mind assisting in the rebuild of the server if it is needed. I have seen a 1.8.9 server that had about 100 people on constantly. they also held weekly capture events and monthly tournaments. But we shall see what the polls say and go from there

 

We physically cant atm you know this.
We have only 1.7.1o servers available anything past that they cant do atm.
Thats why lucid is testing 1.10.2 plugins on anarchy

 

I would like to see the server updated. Though I will be sad to lose all I have accumulated in the current version, a fresh start would put everyone currently playing on equal footing and will make the hunt to recapture what was lost a bit more interesting.

If there were a way to keep at least 1 or 2 selected Pixelmon we have caught and carry them along with us, that would make the move a little easier.

 

Probably wont happen as new versions from the current 3.4 to 5.0 would change alot[DOUBLEPOST=1470927978,1470925480][/DOUBLEPOST]

That sounds awesome. will this 1.10 server be replacing pixelmon eventually or will it be running along side it. and would it be possible for like extra utils or thermal expansion to be added or no.

I just dont want to restart my pokemon. Thats the only thing. An old server I used to play on called "EvolveCraft", we used to get our pkms given back to us if you were the lowest rank donor by providing screenshots of the stats. Just an Idea to keep it fair for people that have spent endless hrs EV training, breeding, and grinding. Doesn't have to be to donors only also, since the server's playerbase is low enough. Also. say maybe we put a cap at 6-10 pkm/ person? I would be willing to take care of the reimbursing of the pokemon and deal with the threads on the forums if we do this (Ie, I would re-apply for staff for the commands)

 

I would like to keep my pokemons if we did a restart or a update :O!

Honestly, i don't care much about losing the save.. since i only started a few days ago. can't say the same for people who've beenn on for months though..

 

If we lose our pokemons, can't we have some kind of replacement? like give you guys a screenshot of our pokemons!

 

Wouldnt be fair unfortunately, plus the best way for everyone to get the best start is to start from fresh

 

iv been playing long time on mym pixelmon xD i even managed to get my micro snorlax to lvl 100

 

Been on for a year and a half xD. Cant wait to lose all that work.

We might get to keep pokes. @Mijikai cleared my player data entirely and I still had my pokes after that.[DOUBLEPOST=1471134908,1471134351][/DOUBLEPOST]I also recall the few who were on the last version of the server to still have their pokemon when they logged in, but I might be remembering inncorrectly.
