Hey folks, I managed to get myself some zombie villagers, which I captured in a pokeball. Then I took a Minefactory Reloaded spawner and cloned him. Took one of those, and used a de-zombification syringe and got myself a villager! Villager+pokeball=profit? Nope. Villager does a pikachu and won't go into the ball! Huh.... Ok. Next up Ender IO. Grab a soul vial filled with Villager, and a broken spawner and throw them into the Soul Binder. wait...Soul Binder won't accept the Villager soul with the spawner? Huh. The recipe says it works. So I try with other critters. The Soul Binder accepts those. Try the villager again. No go. Drat! Am I doing something wrong, or are villagers back listed from the spawners in this pack? The only other ways I can think of spawning them are the Draconic Evolution Stabilized Spawner and an old fashioned villager door spawner. And to do the Stabilized Spawner from DE, I need to be lucky enough to kill and acquire a villager's soul with a draconic tool. And the RNG dieties do not smile upon me that often so I will need to kill a lot. Am I missing some item or trick? Getting my enticing crystals for the vibrantium was tedious with all the de-zombified villages I needed. Am I missing an option somewhere? Doing something incorrectly? Little help here?
As far as I know, are they blacklisted from the "cheap" spawners. I'm not sure if the draconic spawner would work. I would recommend testing this in single player with creative, before being getting disappointed again.
I recommend spawning a exact copy of a zombie villager that's in the middle of transforming. As soon as that zombie turns kill it with a reaper V sword. Might take a while but you can get a villager soul. Plus you can always create some contraption to kill the villagers automatically. Also the vanilla villager breeder would unlikely work cause of the mob cap and it would also take a long time.
One thing I did find out while back donno if its still true, you don't need grown up villagers, if you can get around 8 villagers breeding (or a couple under max limit) you get a baby every couple of minutes. Shuffle them out of the spawn area quickly and auto stick them in a soul vial and they should keep breeding.
I found the easiest way of getting villagers is using a MFR spawner to spawn zombies or zombie villagers, and then hitting them with the healing axe from Extra Utilities.
Not sure if it is Server Specific, but on Ferret Business, I use a MFR Auto-Spawner to spawn Villagers from one I keep in a Reusable Safari Net. (Unclear if this is what you meant by a 'pokeball')
Yes, I was referring to the Reusable Safari Net when I said pokeball. I use the sphax textures, and the reusable safari net is a pokeball and the launcher is a sling shot. This problem appears to be pack-specific. I tried a solution mentioned above. I can get a zombie villager on the verge of de-zombification in a net, and exact spawn that. I tried to do it with a powered spawner and find that I need 300 levels to combine the soul vial with the spawner! So it appears that for the time being, I shall just have to do this the more tedious way of using my almost de-zombified villager in the MFR spawner and kill a lot of them. BTW, I am not having much luck yet. I have a Wyvern Sword with both Reaper V and Looting III, yet no villager souls yet.[DOUBLEPOST=1486642188,1486595088][/DOUBLEPOST]Got an update for ya. After hours of spawning nearly de-zombified villagers and 1500 buckets of mob essence I finally managed to get 2 (two!) villager souls. That's not a typo there I had to use more than one thousand five hundred buckets of mob essence to get two villager souls. Why two? So I would have a backup in case what I wanted to do didn't work. So I popped that soul into my Stabilized Spawner and in the past few hours I have gotten 18 more villager souls. Apparently the RNG hates my sword...
