It's a reward from killing the Antlion Overlord, letting access the Mining Dimension. First issue, I don't even know if the mining dimension is even enabled, because of my main problem: I accidentally right-clicked when crafting portal blocks, and found out the tool had durability that was consumed with each craft. Ended up with 20 portal blocks and zero multitool, so now I can't even activate the portal and find out. The quest is not repeatable, and there's no way of crafting the Mining Multitool now, effectively halting my progression in that regard. TL;DR: Can't reacquire the Mining Multitool, progress stopped.
No, it is not, it is technically user error. This not a temp fix as the portal does not turn off unless you break it.
Given that it's supposed to have a crafting recipe so you can get more than one in case you (like me) screw up, I'm going to agree with Tyler that it's an issue/bug, given that the way the modpack is made, you're only ever able to get a single one, with a finite durability. I don't see how that's intended.
Actually with hqm it WAS a repeatable quest making it so you could re defeat the erubus dude and get a multitool
Really? Well, that would have been useful, if we were still on the HQM. At this point I've just given up on getting it resolved.
