What is the upside to using the MFR chunkloader(3 nether stars, materials from asteroids, thousands of RF per tick) vs the dimensional anchor(9 iron and 4 gold and a stack of coal every 10 hours)? Is it intentional that the MFR chunkloader does NOT load chunks while the player is offline? If so, what is the benefit to building one?
It's the only chunk loader available on Galaxy that doesn't require a fuel to be pumped into it like the dimensional anchors do , instead the mfr one just requires power
Still requires RF power and a liquid fuel pumped into it. Just confusing is all. I understand modpacks are going to have solutions that vary in cost, but this was one of the more jarring discrepancies i've ever seen. i can load 9 chunks while online day1, and then if I mistakenly decide to craft the exponentially more expensive MFR chunkloader on day 10 and supply the ridiculous 3k RF/t power cost, I can do the same thing I was doing on day 1 with a tree farm and charcoal. If it's not supposed to load chunks while offline, that's fine, But I think you can appreciate why I expected it to. Actually, it might be loading while offline. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. further testing needed. Benny, do you know how long an area is chunkloaded after a player logs out?[DOUBLEPOST=1419711271,1419709881][/DOUBLEPOST] Can confirm the MFR loader appears to load while I'm offline. /topic. sorry for the post( i should have tinkered with it before bitching) and thanks for the response.
I was just about to test that myself as I wasn't sure , but there's your benefit to using those ones is that it loads offline [DOUBLEPOST=1419711601,1419711594][/DOUBLEPOST]Marking as done
