It appears the ranks/tiers purchased in the 1.6.4 days are still applicable on the 1.7 servers. Is that going to continue? If so the language on the shop page should be updated to include 1.7 in the description

I point this out because I was about to buy the tier 3=>4 upgrade since my tier 3 is still working in 1.7 but I want to make sure this going to continue in the foreseeable future. Otherwise I'd be better off spending that money to get back to a tier 3 in 1.7.

Granted all of this assumes the tiers are even staying due to the EULA.

    thanks,

should work, and the EULA won't shoot down the teirs, jesus people think the EULA will take down ever server, no thats not how it works, the EULA says in essence the OWNER can't make money off the server

Thanks for chiming in for whatever it was worth...I was hoping to determine what the ongoing policy is for my purposes and then tweak the "Note" quoted so it is clear for others as well going forward.

As for the EULA comment I mentioned...I would say I agree with you when reading the actual EULA posted on mojang's site. That said, your simplification isn't accurate according to Mojang and it really doesn't matter what I or you think. I am sure the server staff has considered this carefully and there are probably other posts dedicated to the topic. Probably should have left that statement out all together.

    Thanks, updated.
The official announced new EULA still isn't out. They gave a fixed date and months later, nothing has been done. (Maybe it was a marketing game for the Microsoft buyout. :p)

The current EULA states that nothing is allowed. The new EULA would allow under very certain circumstance. Overall we wouldn't be able to keep the servers up with less. We have higher expenses than vanilla servers and perks are worth less due to the content of the mods.

I heared this while back when watching a stream. I forgot who said it but i do remember it was someone in the modding community. He said
"A double arm amputee can count of both hand how many time the EULA has been enforced"

While mojang did change the eula, and you need to accept it when making a server now... they left many "loop" holes.
For one it does not specify modded items and it does not specify credits from other site used to purchase In game items.
If you buy credits from a site... your not "really" buying any thing from minecraft..... But you can use them in minecraft if you like....lol
You originally bought these cedits for and from a differant site.

This method of paying the server's bills is far better than a recurring monthly fee for all users. Let the people who want accelerated gameplay pay for it, and the server stays open and free for all. Everyone wins.
