Hey Everyone, Although this is mainly aimed at the admin side of the Mym server, I might as well share with everyone this suggestion. Over the last few weeks I have noticed a lot of griefing going on and mods are always having to follow up on it. Which from what I have seen they have been doing a great job of but there are people on the server that don't even claim there own base/home or all of it which leaves it open to anyone to greif. To help cut down the amount of griefing I would suggest that in the overworld you can not build or break any blocks unless it is in a claimed area. When people need things like wood or charcoal etc.. they use Farmworld where (as we all know) you can mine the crap out of. So overall more bases/homes protected and staff don't need to spend as much time following up on it. Lastly before some of you say it, yes there are ways to get around it(Like anything), but this is to cut down the amount of potensial griefing.
No, this won't happen, i'm sorry, it just WON'T i can't argue the little details atm (i litterally just woke up) but trust me, would only push away players
There might be a lot of things you want to build, where protection might not be necessary or even possible. For example if you agree on some kind of landscaping between your base and your neighbours.
The plugin even automatically claims when you place your first chest and spams you in chat about it. Even tells you when you start building outside your claim. If players dont understand this and dont protect their stuff using claims, how do you think they would understand they need a claim to chop a tree?
Also, of this were to happen, it would only add confusion. I disagree with the idea on this basis alone. But on that note, staff (speaking from previous experience) don't mind doing this, while some find it tedious after a few months of doing it, others are always willing to help the community and ban those willing to "disrupt the peace" so to say. It also gives Mods+ a chance to teach the Junior moderators on how to use commands, screenshot proof of griefing and write out the ban report. If we're to stop this, future moderators would have little to no idea how to work things.
Unfortunately I think this would increase the amount of support needed in the way of hand holding those that don't understand it, with the major issue on what happens if no staff is around or them being afraid to ask at all. While it isn't visible at first hand, a major amount of bans does reduce the overall rule breaks. Hence leading to a way more major, friendly and respectful community.
It's not a bad idea, but like Slind says, the holding hands part is not something to look forward to. This week it has calmed down a LOT anyways.
I understand your point slind with the holding hands part, but its an age old case of if you don't read up you don't know and it works on every angle. Its kinda a catch 22 situation. They have to read the book to know how to play Regrowth which we all know not everyone does and they need help still. Overall its just an idea to try and help you guys and girls out a bit on the servers. Sassa, you already know that most people see you and run if they know they have done wrong cough cough enough said
