Who on earth thought putting base claims on all servers on a doomsday timer was a good idea??
Players are busy people, and sometimes they dont wanna spend their time logging into a server to keep their awesome base from being deleted for no reason.
/absence only works if you dont play on a mym server for the next month, otherwise the timer either restarts or continues it time if you play on another server, like NERO. Then you have to juggle the timers while trying to play another modpack, and thats a ton of fun...
Why not go back to having people put in tickets to remove old bases? What was wrong with leaving bases intact, unloaded, and only having them removed when its a major obstacle? Why must everyone suffer for not playing a certain server for about 2 weeks?
This makes me almost never want to play on MyM because i know my base is going to be deleted without my consent if i ever stop playing.

The current system makes it so the server does go into a server meltdown, If you have 10 people who are end game those end game player use alot ticks per seconds, now if that continuelly running that will use up resources thus making TPS worse and thus making player including me and you complain about lag problems

Wouldnt they stop if their chunks werent loaded? Like, cant admins go in and break their chunk loaders if its that big a problem?[DOUBLEPOST=1463681251][/DOUBLEPOST]
Bases would only be deleted if they're an active problem? Or maybe, when someone puts in a ticket, an admin TELLS the person that someone wants their base deleted so the base person can do something about it

The problem here is that forge/the mods are leaking chunks, that means there are loaded chunks across the entire map. For example, last week I wrote a little hook for applied energistics just to give me some information about all the ae2 system that are being loaded. It reported hundreds and I removed the 10 worst. 8 out of those 10 were bases where the owner and members were last seen +1 month ago. Most of them did not even have a chunkloader and the chunkloaders of the others were off since at least 2 days after they stopped (they turn off after 48 hours).

This is also the reason why tile entities only tick in chunks which are forceloaded, as if they would tick all the machines on those islands/bases would keep processing. On some servers this is a difference of 18 to 0.5 tps. Therefor we implemented a system which would wipe the bases from inactive players.

So to sum it up, we can do monthly server resets or wipe old bases and do not let tile entities in non force loaded chunks tick.

We can't judge if they are causing issues. Overall the biggest reasons for base removal requests were that the player wanted to use that part of land or complained about low fps due to it being close to his.
On top there is no reliable way of telling if a base is causing lag. Overall every tile entity, ticking or not is adding up as it grows the list of tile entities which makes tasks using it slower.

Just for my understanding. This seems like you want us to to keep track of al 30 servers and every player base which is getting created with only a few admin and higher staff? We have a lot to do and also real lifes. Even if we could do something like this the man power would be just toooo high. The current system is working fine and cleaning up the space on the server for new players so they can find a place to build.

I like the current system. It's harsh, yes, but effective. I would, however, like a timer without /absence a bit longer then just 2 weeks. Life is busy and if a player has some issue with their computer, they could not find enought time to get it fixed before the time deleted his claim( as I've seen a player report on the server when I first joined ). I'd like to see either a longer timer without /absence ( maybe 3weeks or a month ) or a way to do it from the website/forum, it would be a very nice way of not hurting players that suffered by lady luck...

Staff can do it, too. There have been many contacting staff to do it for them.
The issue with doing it via. the website/forums is the need for an account, which requires access to minecraft in order to sign up.

No change will happen the system in place is both logical and saves valuable time
