The modpack is quite confusing for new players (like me) with all the modifications to what is enabled and what not (I have no idea if the world interaction upgrade cobble production is just disabled or if it is broken) and ways to progress. I am currently unable to progress to Thaumatorium and Infusion altar because I can't obtain greatwood and silverwood. NEI say that it can be obtained from sieving tainted soil, but to get it, it is necessary to create taint using crucible overflow (If there is any other way how to obtain it without arcane alembic [it requires silverwood], then the way is nowhere mentioned). Problem is that the fibrous taint, even on the dirt, doesn't spread. In my base, it didn't spread even a block after more than 2 hours of waiting. I am simply unable to progress because of the taint not spreading.
it's possible to get, I haven't played the modpack in a long time, but last time I checked it was fairly easy to get something like that set up
Well, the easy nor the hard way wasn't mentioned anywhere. So I simply made the fibrous taint with flux but it won't spread.
