Hi, I'm W4R. I'm an ex mod from serendipity servers, I helped that community grow until and now I'm willing to help this one. Here's a list of some suggestions Claimblocks Ration of 1mym to 2 claim blocks, at least. More options for buying them, as well as maybe 10 claimblocks roughly every 30-45 minutes, helps players expand and feel less limited Inflate the currency This will stimulate the economy by allowing players to earn more money and also feel 'richer'. EX. 1 mym now= 100 myms, Giving a much wider variety of options buying and selling, and as well as bigger rewards for purchasing in game items and claim blocks I'm not saying this to make things easier, just to make things more fun and less limiting. Lastly, Every few hours of playtime should grant specific items, as the voting+ random item is perfect as is EX. 1 hour, an iron pick 5 hours, a solar panel 10 hours, 5 diamonds, etc these are just examples.
First let me say that I am only a mod so I can't speak for the owners, but personally I have to disagree with most of your suggestions. The one thing I do agree with is that there needs to be more options for buying claimblocks with MyMs though I think the ratio you suggested is still far too much. I would suggest something like 20MyM:20CB 40MyM:45CB 60MyM:70CB 80MyM:100CB 100MyM:135CB 150MyM:200CB etc... As for getting claimblocks for time spent online, the current system already allows this indirectly since you get MyM for ontime which can then be turned into claimblocks if you so desire. Stimulating the economy as you put it, again seems unnecessary to me, since launching Monster 2 last week, and after one full economy wipe due to a crash, /money top already shows several people with close to, if not more than 1000MyMs and I think if people want to make money themselves, there are plenty of ways to do it, rather than them just been given a large handout... Finally, with regards to people receiving certain items for ontime, while I can see how some players would appreciate it, a problem arises when a player reaches one of the playtime triggers while they have a full inventory (which causes the item to be erased) and then making more hassle for us mods by pestering us to give them what they will quickly come to see themselves as being entitled to, and then getting annoyed at us when we have to explain to them that mods don't have access to /give and thus cannot replace the missing reward.
About the value of MyMs and ClaimBlocks, I know that it is not that much but it is (easy) possible to get +1 chunk each day, which is in my opinion a good value on expanding the claims. About increasing the money in circulation, yes it might let you feel richer, but it also makes things confusing. I mean consider you want to buy or sell an item which costs 100.000, ok you can read this number pretty fine, but there is no dot inside the game and you need to take a very close look. In my opinion this is more important than feeling rich which is relative. I like the idea about giving out items for each hour played or something like this, but your example is way too op. I know that you get solar panels for voting on your old server but this is nothing I intend to do.
I really have no problem with claimblocks. The inflation idea is not soo bad, but id think 1:10 ratio would suffice. And items for beeing online, hum, dunno, think the mym you allready get are fine and things like solars would be overpowered (yeah even on a cheap-stuff modpack like monster).
