Decided Against Vote for a serverrestart

Hello Mym members,

I came up with an idea. Sometimes servers lag so much that you would like to get a restart. But we as normal members cannot perform that.
Thats why I came up with the idea to be able to vote for a restart. When (for example) 75% votes for a restart, then there will be a restart in 10 minutes.

This is a good idea lol. cause sky factory always has like 5tps (node 1)

 

I think this got suggested a while back, while this is a good idea, but iirc restarts dont always help with TPS lag, theyre to make sure the server is stable by restarting it every few hours etc.

 

It does help most of the times. AFK people get kicked faster, chunks will be unloaded, etc etc. And if people vote for a restart it doesn't hurt someone, cuz they voted for it.

 

This has been suggested many many many times before, and we actually had it implimented for a little while, but it was a total failure. Players would pretty much vote to restart the server any time the TPS dropped below 20 for even a second, no matter if it would have naturally came back up itself anyway, resulting in more downtime of the servers for the players and making it much more difficult for staff to find and fix any actual issues with TPS, and all of this without it even fixing any of the TPS problems that might have been happening at the time.
