Squirrel has a point, some mods have no use without PvP. Oh and a question for the Admins, Could Vampirisim be re-enabled ive always wanted to try it out and its not as OP as you think[DOUBLEPOST=1432903409][/DOUBLEPOST] then what is the point of PvP?
Not sure what to tell you, until yesterday I didn't have armor at all. I play slow, realllll slow. As in I haven't started thaum, botania or witchery yet. I've made no portals and and just starting with the AoA stuff. I have just been having fun running around killing stuff.
I can say the same thing when the server only has 5 people in end game items that just kill the new people so no one wants to play.
The server would die because it takes more then a day to get amazing gear. Say your one of those new beginners and some end game people run up on you and you lose everything, then you start over and get mid game and they kill you again and take your items. Then what going to continue starting over?
I love raiding/pvp servers. However we ALWAYS get to the same point, end game people driving everyone away. That's the curse of Modded MC. That's why we are always looking for ideas/suggestions as the players (you) are who ultimately decide if something is a success or a bust. This also leads to a more "center of the road" type setting as we need to catering to the biggest group of users to ensure the community continues to be the best in the world.
Use a Knapsack and Ender pouches. Also AoA has a way to keep your tools and weapons on Death.... if they are from the AoA mod. @Administrator @Developer I have seen a few server give players keep inventory for the first 1-4hrs of joining the server. Could this be something in the future? so players don't camp spawn and around spawn. This also allows new players to find a home area and get situated before they go out. In this pack it is Deadly at night, and in single player you would go to your nearest cave when starting a world.... but on a server you cant do that. I would suggest(IF possible) Keep inventory for the first 2hrs of joining the server. After that you must protect yourself.
I would like to see a server where you have to live with one of the witchery afflictions like lycanthropy (werewolf), or Vamprisim (vampire) as a challenge.
Never thought of this, guess its me thinking people actually want to have fun and not just "camp noobs". If i were being hunted and killed on a regular basis it would become un-fun fast. Its probably just me assuming everyone is going to be nice an play fair, which may not be what actually occurs.
I've actually had a thought like this before. I tried to create a PvP around the aether mod to allow you to be able to re gear/build quickly with small protection if you lost everything. I want to get the PvP/Raid Vanilla server done as those are easier to balance then expand to modded pack built off the same story.
If youre afraid of dying become a vampire and get fire resist armor xD there you go you can't die but you are vulnerable to sun/fire bolts/monsters
Im still excited to see how that turns out... but thats another topic. I have a concern/question about if we turn off pvp... do Advent of Ascension guns bypass pvp toggle/off If they do not then i would suggest a /pvp toggle command with a 24-48hr cool down, so people cant abuse it.
They could just logout then once they get the kill and wait. Pvp toggle is way to easy to abuse even with a cooldown
what? If you could only Toggle Pvp every 24-48hrs.... people would either leave it on or off. And what does logging out have to do with it? People already do this and will always do this if they have pvp on and are scared.
