My old profile was out of date. Things have changed.
I'm a primary singleplayer (sometimes multiplayer though) user who has played minecraft since before its beta release, and helped beta test the original. I've been officially with modded since 09, have been writing private packs since '14 and have writing mods since '21. I have been a C/C++/PERL/(Z|BA|K|TC|DA)SH programmer since the late 90s, before which I was primarily an Assembler programmer (machine code, Turbo Assembler, DOS, Netware, CP/M, etc)
I use Xubuntu Linux, and have a heavily modded version of 19.04 which I compiled a modded kernel. I use a recompiled customized fork of i3 and also have another private wm that I call gdwm which is more or less like dwm. I prefer to write scripts but will do C++ if it is needed. I lothe java but will write javascript sometimes. Perl is basically my wife at this point, I spend so much time with perl we might as well be married. (v5.30). I absolutely love Perl5. (What? Perl6? what? nope never seen her).
TLDR: I didn't convert to Perl6 because I went through literal hell to learn all the quirks of Perl5, and I'm not giving that up for anyone, even if it is easier or something
How do I feel about python, ruby, etc? I feel like there are bindings for just about every language now, I like Perl, so I use perl. If for some reason I require something from another language, I'll snag a binding (or make one).
