I guess you got the wrong idea, i mean making a path to move mobs, not the mob spawner itself
i guess what most players avoid into thaumcraft (fluix) might suit for your need, since failing to clean it afects the area with tains aspect....
you may try instead moving the mobs out of you protected area ( with a watter channel or something alike), so players wont face the mob security...
