ever tried agrarian skies? we still have 1.6.4 servers with this pack. or maybe even crash landing which is another step further to light weight

if you have a texturepack I would suggest removing it (the mym launcher ships with one). I would also recommend to try 1244 allocated ram.
It has a major impact on performance. While I do totally understand why it is very helpful I don't think it justifies the performance impact.
