Mac OS x still runs with java 6 by default. I think you need set the java 7 patch under the launcher options.

Somewhere in the early days of AG I asked jaded about this, too. She told me that it is intended that the bag usage is limited. :/
I will remove all crafting stations on your island and you should be good to login again in about 5 min.
