It's not actually a crash, they are just being kicked from the server. The closest to a report that is available would be the client log.

Unlikely, since there have been things like the invisible air guardian, which cannot wear armour.
Have you tried using the Thaumcraft or AM2 true sight effects, or the witchery brew of revealing on them?
Did the reinstall work correctly?
