I didn't disable it so I don't know the reason too.
Everything is stored on the server so it doesn't matter what you use to join the server. (Except few things from client mods like waypoints.)
We can't change the sound without editing the plugin. So we will just disable it via the config option.

We already did disable chickenchunks on infinity for few weeks and there was no difference. It will be probably the same with FB
We already added a limit for them.

Try to delete your account in the FTB Launcher and create a new one with your login details.
The mod update broke something on servers then. Report it to the mod author if it is not already fixed/reported
There a tons of youtube videos which explain it. We also have a few but in german and outdated. (Playlist)
Please try to reproduce it in singleplayer.
I think this changes makes it only more complicated. Just keep it as it is and wait for the next update.
It should be on all 1.7 servers but not 1.6
