Decided Against A PvP Oriented Server

Oh, sure. Its been a month but um.. We're kinda waiting for Thaumcraft to come out on 1.10 before we continue discussing, i think.

 

Sad to see all these wonderful ideas brought to a halt because Thaumcraft, wouldnt it be possible to keep deveploping the foundation of the pack, and then worry about Thaumcraft when it comes out in the future.

 

Hey, Thaumcraft is worth waiting for if this modpack has a chance of existing.

 

It's looking like we won't be getting Thaumcraft for a very long while. Is thaumcraft strictly necessary here?

 

Well we could always just assume that by the time we are ready to make this thaum will be ready
And if not then... well that sucks

 

Yeah, probably going to take quite some time before you can even think about releasing the pack, so i would say its worth to start without thaumcraft

 

Definitely not, thaumcraft would be the core of the modpack. Until such time as it's released for 1.10-1.11, it'll have to be on hold. We'd be giving up SO much potential if we released it without it.

 

Till thaumcraft is released, 1.10 will be as old as 1.7 was in its prime time

 

TBH thaum not being there is half the reason I don't play many 1.10 packs

We don't even know what the next version of Thaumcraft will be like, if it even releases. What if it provided no PvP mechanics whatsoever?

 

Well we know that there was a casting gauntlet with foci in it planned. So it could be assumed that there would be pvp capabilities

 

For all we know, the casting gauntlet would only target mobs

 

It's not an issue of faith in Azanor, more an issue of the possibility of waiting for a mod to release that could have very little PvP potential in order to make a PvP pack.

 

It would be kinda cool if aznor borrows some ideas from Doctor strange

 

Even still, the modpack would rely on Thaumcraft for recipes, not just it's pvp capabilities. Its not at all a problem if thaumcraft itself doesn't have any pvp functions, the other mods can cover that.
