  1. I have tried the windows 10 edition and I like it quite a bit. It feels more polished, more smoother around the edges and is less a load on my system. I am a learning Java and to me it feels like a very messy business as compared to HTML, vbscript, c++ and a few others which I have forgotten. Minecraft is not using the current technology to its fullest, there is a lot of room for improvement.[DOUBLEPOST=1463065020][/DOUBLEPOST]It just depends on what kind of games you want to make; Java games, Flash games (ActionScript), iOS games(Objective C)…etc. But I want to note that by far the most popular programming language in the game industry, and not necessarily multimillion dollar games, is C++.
It would be more sensible to go with the flow, at least to me.

I am a C++ developer, so my little java rant was necessary for my ego. ;-)

I am actually not sure what the current most popular language in game programming is. And of course you can write efficient games in java. Minecraft actually seems to have improved a lot, since they got rid of Notch and his code.
I know that people like to rant about Microsoft, but I really expect an improvement here regarding Minecraft. Whether it is in Java or in C++.

What people sometimes seem to ignore is the fact that pocket is not just a tiny little version of minecraft. Even with less content it sold more copies than the PC version and will get stronger with people switching more and more to mobile devices and away from traditional PCs and even laptops.
