And thats fine too, people will be thrilled to know one of their favorite mods has been added to the pack. There will also be people who won't get into it, and the people that do? That initial feeling will fade as leveling becomes more tedious, and they are forced to playing with the other mods again as Ars Magica slows their progression down.

just because you played one pack does not mean thats what happens on all packs
i have played plenty of packs with ars magica
and not everyone used it heck some people hated the mod
but just because you played a mod pack on one server
that it doesn't mean its the same for every one of them

reminder: this was on THIS server network, we had around 30~ players at any time, so say about 1000~ unique players, approx 20~ out of those 30~ only ever did ars magica, so you do the math...

I agree with chugga. Ars magica is one of those mods that does everything in an easy way. Thaumcraft and Botania are excelent mods, with a lot of end game potential but they require time and dedication (Thaum more than Botania), in order to have something nice, you have to spend a lot of time using the mods mechanics. AM2 has this leveling up system and trial and error, the complexity is no way near to Thaum or Botania... people will shift towards AE because it's easier to have all the things Thaum and Botania offer (and more).

It's not a bad mod for itself but it's way too easy... and I like Civ being semi-hard. But meh, that's my opinion.

reset the famrworld and deep dark upon addition so that people can find the orchids and ores otherwise this won't work. Please do not reset the map

    civ is anything but hard
if people think it is hard then they have only just started in the modded scene
also in my opinion thaumcraft and botania aren't hard mods
    they are just grindy
but even so ars magica will allow the new people to magic mods to have an easy start
as a pack needs to cater to all people unless it is stated its a hard pack

I think it's hard compared to the other modpacks that this network has to offer (except 1) and i've been playing modded minecraft for a while now. And Thaumcraft/Botania arent grindy... Ars magica is. But i wont dwelve more into this because it's a difference of opinions and those never end well.

As I said. I honestly believe AM2 does not add anything new to Civ, it just makes it simpler.

You are incorrect, I started with Thaumcraft then transitioned to AM2.

If you were on the original horizons, i never saw you there.... but... I do believe you can recall a number of people starting (and complaining somehow) with Ars, EVERYONE did ars, practically everyone
