In order to progress to the eldritch stage of thaumcraft, one needs the Book of Crimson Rites. Which Only drops off Of Crimson Cultists. In order to spawn Cultists you need a portal obelisk. In order to get a portal obelisk, you need to be insane enough to spawn Eldritch guardians and then farm them for 4 Eyess, which then go into a portal in a box. This is an extremely long, Slow, and RNG-Heavy process just to get a single key item for progression. (Not even the quest book provides the book, unless its on some quest i haven't unlocked yet.) And it would be soo much more straightforward to have A sign at Spawn where players can buy one. You only ever need one copy so.. maybe have it cost 2k mym's? 3? Maybe make a Server unique infusion recipe with a Thaumonomicon, Some Void metal (to show progression) and some other thematic bits so the player can reliably just make one? Im Not asking for it to be easy. im just asking for something reliable that i don't have to wait days for, for something utterly reliant on RNG.

Thats the process i mentioned. Wait for Eldritch Guardians to spawn, Farm for eyes, make portal, hope portal actually spawns the cultists, farm the cultists, Get book. Im asking if we can have a more direct way of getting the book than this heavily unreliable Rng-method.
More straight forward? Yes of course it would! Jaded however, avoided things like straightforward and easy when designing the pack. You have to remember that her goal was to torture players in very subtle ways. Adding a simple way to bypass one of her devious plans would change the modpack and it isn't something we're willing to do.
