Real quick question... What are the shards used for in game? Most of RFTools is based around the creation of dimensions (a.k.a Technical Mystcraft). Is their another use for them?

    • You also need some shards to craft the 'Machine Infuser' (more on that later).
    • You also need some shards to craft the 'Activity Probe' (more on that later).
    • There are some cosmetic blocks you can make using these shards.
    • And finally you can 'infuse' almost all RFTools machines with these shards.
This last usage is pretty interesting. RFTools has the 'Machine Infuser' which is crafted as follows:

With this machines you can 'insert' dimensional shards into almost all other RFTools machines. Just pick up any RFTools machine with a wrench and put it in the machine. You can infuse up to 256 shards into a single machine. What does this do? Basically infused machines work more efficiently or faster. The benefits vary depending on the machine but in almost all cases it will need a lot less power to operate and in some cases speed will go up a lot. One particular case is the Dimension Builder. A fully infused Dimension Builder will create dimensions a lot faster. But also the shield block, auto crafter, and so on will benefit from this.

    Dimensional Shards
Some items and machines in RFTools require Dimensional Shards. This is a special material that you can only find in RFTools dimensions (below level 40). The best way to get this is to make a random dimension, hope there is some stone there (or else make a 'Flat Terrain' dimlet and be sure of a flat world) and go mine some with a fortune pickaxe. Or you can just melt the ore if you picked it up using silk touch.[DOUBLEPOST=1444457357][/DOUBLEPOST]i was thinking about making recipes with dimlets so random dimlets could be used or dimples gotten from the quest book but figure it would be to hard to divide them up in class's so instead using the blind bags that can be bought with dimlets
the shards is mainly used in infusing machines and items so they getting a speical infused ability if you can call it that.

Some machines uses less power, some machines work faster.
there is 2 crafting recipes for dimensions and its a template and phased generator

I would half the amount of shard blocks you receive.
