Direwolf20 Performance (constant lagg)

Should we disable mobs/animals until a solution for this issue has been found?

    Hey,

    nearly all the lag on the server is coming from entities (mobs/animals). We don't know why they are that heavy on direwolf. I'm not aware of any mod adding a new/improved AI or similar to all entities.

    On the picture above you see the ms it takes for each tick per category. The maximum ms per tick for 20 tps is 50ms (50ms * 20ticks = 1000ms => 20ticks/sec). The picture shows clearly that there is something totally wrong, as the mobs alone would already cause the server to lagg. For your information other modpacks have an entity update time of about 10-20 ms for around 1700 entities.

    The biggest issue are hostile mobs and squids but not far from animals:

    I dont know about all mobs/animals. From what ive heard from other servers the zombie pathfinding causes a lot of stress, so maybe disable those first, see if anything improves? just a thought

    Hm... i always have problems with too many entities on the Server and i cant solve them by hand as a mod. From time to time we have a Co-Admin or Admin here, butchering all the hostile mobs. I also told people, to light up the area around their house with torches and magnum torches. But still, we have problems here. I dont want to have hostile mobs disabled, but you could disable them as a temporary solution until there is a solution for it.

    Is it possible to decrease the spawn rate?

    Only "new" mod that added mobs is Ender zoo.
    Its a branch from Ender IO, it took the Enderminis...ect and made it a separate mob

    If you hope on the server and type /cofh killall it will tell you exactly what mobs there were alot of, this only kills hostiles

    try taking away the biggest mob farms, prob a HUGE strain on the server

    Could clearlagg the mobs every 2 hours or so

    just make it have an exception for the tc cultists and knights, those things are rare

    There are no big mobfarms chugga. I was looking into it a few days, and i just found one big mobfarm, but not capable of draining the tps as all the mobs are doing it.

    A clearlagg for mobs every 1h? Is a Blacklist for the clearlag possible?

    remove hostile mobs and enable the peaceful table from Extra utilities is my suggestion. Less strain on the server, and still have hostile mob loot available

    peaceful table doesn't work with TC mobs, which happen to drop semi-important items

    I think finding exactly what mobs are causing the issue would be better.
    If any admin is on DW20 run /cofh killall
    then wait 30 sec and do it again.
    See what mob is spawning fast

    We have very often problems with Zombies. Not always on the first place, but always on the first 5 most used entities. This is an older picture. But you see them like always. But there are also other entities as well.

    Also could be Squid, i have seen them spawning like crazy in some packs, hundreds at a time, I think is Pneumatic crafts squid plants

    don't forget cleric, when at an altar they are a huge strain
