Done Do Thaumcraft Golems get Despawned?

    My Flesh-Alchemy Golem (had air & earth upgrades) dissappeared when i went several chunks away to refill my wand. Dont know what hhappened to it.. if golems do get despawned, thats.. alot of resources just gone. not asking for a refund, just want to know so i dont waste more.
