I enjoyed Regrowth because quest progression is very gradual, it's forcing people to use mods they never used before and AE2/Mekanism are endgame, not the usual early go-to mods. Because there are no OP mods like MFR, Thaumic Tinkerer, Draconic Evolution etc., and because of this no-ore-generation theme. It's very refreshing compared to usual FTB modpacks and the reason why Regrowth is so popular.

Except the wasteland biome theme, do you guys really think this modpack is anything like Regrowth?

I never tried regrowth so i can only answer partially.

AE2 depending on how much you go after is mid-endgame, the recipes are nerfed a lot to make it harder.

And like regrowth there is no ore generation.

even though draconic evolution is in the pack, it is behind heave progression and very hard to make.

A lot of vanilla recipes have been changed up, like you have to smelt iron in a pickaxe form with foundry to make a pickaxe.

so with my limited knowledge of regrowth is definitely sounds like the packs have some themes in common

Its inspired by regrowth not like it ... making a second regrwoth makes no sense :D

Its also inspired by running red, but its not renning red ;)

Pizza already pointed out some good points, thoo I rely heavier on quests/recipe progression. Bloodmagic beeing the main mod, many other mods branch off from it. E.g. DE needs a T6 Altar to start (when that stupid oregeneration in end is now finally disabled), others need a T3 and soon on.

But dont fear bloodmagic too much, early BM is a bit accelerated, mid-BM alot (oceans of blood and pumps... well you get the reason i guess) , only the top tiers slow down again.

nah, me and tyler have a full t5 altar 24/7 even with the t5 orbs being stuck in it, so the later tiers aren't slowed down except T6

From what I played of Regrowth, I enjoyed it thoroughly. There was never TOO much grinding and the fact that I didn't spend the first half of the game in caves looking for ores made it different. I'd be happy to do some alpha testing when possible, not sure how much I'd be able to what with exams at school at such. The screenshots look exciting btw - Someone might have already asked this but is that... blood? o_O

Is there going to be some kind of a reset for the open alpha or is it safe to play now if I have already access to the server? Or is it going to be a different server?

No reset for open alpha planned. For beta thoo ... most likely to have a reset since worldgen is still beeing tweaked.

well, being that this week all the FTB user emails for closed alpha just got sent out, we just got an influx of approx 20-30 more alpha testers at least in my estimate, so i do believe that there are plenty for alpha testers for now
