They are very different. Regrowth is tech heavy with Mechanism and AE3. Also HQM pack Magic Farm is more of a farming pack with Crops and Farm animals (Mo creatures). HQM has been removed. Also has no Mass storagge like AE3. see mod list: Magic Farm 3: Harvest - Tech - Minecraft Modpacks - Curse There is one issue if this was made on a server, it would be the Sleeping aspect. That would need to be disabled.(if a server was ever made) Out of the two, i enjoy MF3 more, just because how lite it is and a survival aspect to it. It had "scary" mobs and SHARKS.... I found it fun to make a Zoo with all the creatures.

Similar but less "moddy" RusticCraft looks cool though. Its a shame packs like this go under the radar. I would like to see where Vanilla Plus goes. I like the "no fly" idea for a mod pack. Minecraft and mods change once you can fly. Runew0lf was just streaming the pack. Slowpoke start streaming it in about 30 min. I want to find out what they plan to add.
Courious as to an update on the tppi2 server? Is this still going to be a thing, cause that is a pack I can see people getting behind.
Thet do have the beta pack on the launcher without gregtech, and they have stated that there should not be a reset required when they add gregtech as they are not using his ores.
I have been wathcing Slow and Runw0lf stream FTB Vanilla Plus yesterday and today. Their idea and vision of the pack seems cool. 1. No flying in the pack 2. Transportation is all done by Railcraft 3. Its what FTB would like Vanilla to become. I am actually liking this minimal approach. While the mod list is very lite and really close to vanilla, it has the pack creators at ftb enjoying it. There are a lot of cool features, like everything from 1.8. Also no mini map, instead they use the Ancient atlas mod ( which is a map in a book). Another this is they have gravestones that require you to carry 2 chest, and if you die it make a coffin in the ground with your items. There are a lot of other cool features. This will be a perferct pack for people new to modded or that have a Weak pc/internet. OR for people like me that like vanilla but wish it had more. Im coming up with ideas on what would work well with a pack like this(plug in wise). For one i would love to make a chest shop/shopkeeper restaurant and garden supply....
That's definetely a pack we could try out. The list of modifications seems a bit incomplete though. Stating that there is no automated mining, yet there is railcraft in there. Also, AppliedEnergistics beeing in there is nice, but AE is always quite a hassle if there is no way to set up a stable power source. I'm also not quite sure how good it would work on a server, especially for the railcraft part. Building up a globar railway system would be nice, but it's hard to properly secure such a thing.
They disabled and mine tweaked a lot out. For items that used steam boilers, they changed the recipes to infernal stone. They also only have Coal powered trains. They have like 2-3 weeks left of development, im following it. Also no AE. We are talking about FTB Vanilla Plus, right?
While that does look good, there is the issue of it being an unknown pack. It might be hard to get players to play it. Also it really doesn't have that Vanilla feel. Addition: I have been playing Magic Farm 3, its an amazing pack. One of the only pack i know of that can use Mo Creatures. only thing that might be an issue is the sleep mechanic(requires your to sleep) but im sure that could be disabled.

*Sigh* Was I the only one nerdy enough to watch the FTB Townhall? They announced, publically, that the Mod Of The Month packs will start tomorrow. vazkii didn't leak anything that wasn't already available to the public.
I watch these when they are live. Im sure Slind does also. Its great to know whats coming up and what their plans are.
