The one issue with SevTech that's I've found is with sponge. A few things break with it. The Hydra and Ur-Ghast don't spawn properly due to mob-box limits with sponge.
That's always been an issue with TwilightForest/Galacticraft & Cauldron/Sponge. We've had GC bosses despawning on Po2 kappa (1.7.10)for example, that was caused by that. Easy fix: there's a config to set max bounding-box size.
Might also have to look to see if pre-gen of dimensions can be done. Was noticing users when they enter the between lands for the first time drop the tps, same with hunting dimension and twilight forest. For new users trying to progress, someone ahead of the curve already traveling to the between lands would make the tps unbearable.
I personally wouldn't pregen sevtech world's. It causes severe tps issues even after it's completed. Due to dungeons loading, items dropping andobs glitching completely. Tps would stay at a constant 3-4. Unless of course, MyM have a fix for this too
That's odd My personal test-server runs at 20TPS even during pregen and my pc is a complete potato compared to MyM's servers. Well, except for Twilight Forest. That place has always caused massive cascading chunk-loads during WorldGen. Generate the first chunk and it'll just snowball and end up generating chunk #500+ away
Very much in favor of this modpack! The fact that it has AbyssalCraft alone is enticing for me, but the entire thing seems pretty neat.
We pregenerate all dimensions at server setup. Items dropping would only happen as the chunks get loaded, same with mobs. While the land is generated it isn't loaded until a player walks into the chunk. Compare that to generating the nine chunks around the player it causes a much more significant drop to the tps then someone leaving rotten flesh on the ground.
From previous experience with ST servers tps seems to drop once pregen finishes up. It could have possibly bugged out while genning though :/

Well, I can understand why SevTech would be made into a Patron only server for a few reasons. One being that it's heavily exploration based, and loads of players would easily wipe villages, darklands biomes, etc. off the map long before most could even get their first fire. Two, limited resources. I mean, it took me 7 minutes (Of flying in creative mode! I spent 10 minutes just walking!) of just southbound travel just to find a single darklands biome. Then most people will drill holes in the place just to get the darklands oak wood needed to have proper...ish chests.
So it is 4.99 Euro a month or roughly sixteen cents a day for those Euro inclined twenty cents a day American Dollars twenty-five cents a day for the Canadian Folks twenty-six cents a day for our Australian friends Small price to pay for Sevetech with friends I'd say!
So, Sevtech . . Can I pencil in the date next week on my Calendar to not do anything else? I want it naaaooo
Looking forward to this coming on. When it first launches will it be patron-only or open to everyone?
