Breed them with rocky bees to get the ability to work in the rain.

All ppl who just replied since this was moved to the suggestions topic dont even play on the server i requested this to be changed on. Im not asking to disable this network wide, but just on Infinity Node 6 where im playing on. Also it doesnt have to be disabled, but i just want the time interval when this kicks in to be a bit longer. Rain is part of the game and it shouldnt be disabled because some ppl play on potato pc's which cant handle rain.

...And not everyone can "enjoy" lots of rain with HD texture packs and shaders. it goes both ways.

Your point being that because ppl cause their pc to run on the edge of what they can take (by using said shaders and HD texture packs), we should just disable rain then? I think you're missing the point here. Rain is part of the game. Shaders and texture packs are not. they have no function other than to fry your GPU and make the game look more crispy. However rain limits the use of solar panels (unless you are in a desert), which may force people to not only rely on solar energy. It also makes crops grow a bit faster (for the farmers among us) without the need for sprinklers or other methods of crop growth acceleration. Then there is the lightning rods mentioned earlier, those could serve as a backup for the solars during a rainy stretch.

Could we get back to the ground breaking points? This is about what makes a better gameplay for the general population of MyM players.

It was once introduced because it was raining more than half of the time, especially on skyblock servers. Why, we were never able to figure out. The goal of the plugin was/is to keep rain at an optimal/balanced rate.

Thats what im after aswell, balance. Dont need it to rain all day. But the timespan the RainManager is set to kick in now is way too short in my opinion.

Just to cap off my previous point, I never said we should disable rain, and i agree, rain is a game mechanic and disabling rain is essentially cheating, but at the same time I do not like days on days of rain, non-stop. my idea is to let rain run for 10-15 minutes before the rain-manager would execute the command. many players rely on solar energy and/or lightning rods, and as such a balance is fair. I, personally, relied on rods for quite awhile on Beyond, and I'm not certain if rain-manager is enabled on Beyond, but the storms didn't last long enough for too many strikes.

But I agree with the neutral, I'd like rain limited, but at the same time I want the rain to last for some time. (10-15 minutes seems fair)

This is how the rain manager works. It removes rain after 10 minutes.

    Infinity 6 Config:
    Code:
    # Weather Limits
    # WorldName : Max rain time in milliseconds. (600,000 = 10 minutes, -1 = weather control disabled, default is applied to any world not explicitly defined)
    weathercontrol:
      default: -1
      world: 600000

Don't see a single reason to have it longer than 10 minutes, really.

well a single reason would be to force players to rely more on other sources of power than just solar. The randomness of rain complicates the use of solars. So it would be actually part of the game to let rain last a bit longer.

10 mins is like a drop in a bucket. Should be at least 20 mins or if possible a random integer between 10 and 20 mins. Would be nice tho if we didnt get to see that RainManager addon text message that it removes the rain, then it feels more natural.

If you don't want to use solars, then don't.

Who cares if other people use solar power? If it's what they want to do, and doesn't break the rules, who does it hurt?

Based on the shared opinions on this matter we are leaving the settings as they are. There is no clear bigger side and this has not been a topic in the past while the system had been up like this for quite some time.
The rain duration is set to a max. of 10 minutes which is exactly half a minecraft day.
