Several days ago while in one of the modpacks, there was an error on your site which caused my login information to JAVA ERROR. I know little about JAVA except that it was designed and maintained by Sun Microsystems. The error that I am seeing refers to Sun.
Please note: There have already been sent 2 identical logs and to repeat the same thing and expecting different results can not be expected until this error goes away.
Also because of this error, I cannot sign in to anything other than the boards because it seems that the problem does lie within this site. I am able to log in to Microsoft, FTB, and other apps, so it cannot be on another site.
BTW the other day right after finding the problem, I also found malware. I am not saying that it came from your site, but is there a connection possible? Could I have gotten malware from someone that signed on at the same time as I did?
As it is my time not on here is being spent on the FTB public servers, where things are very strange except for the mod packs which work very well. Please look into this problem.

I had Java Errors not long ago when I wanted to start one of the the new modpacks(ATM8, FTB Skies, DW20, Stoneblock 3). It turned out that these Modpacks didn't like the newest Version of Java(1.8.0_51). So I installed an older Version(17.0.7) besides the newest one and put it in the Launcher as the Fallback Runtime Version. That worked for me.

I thank you for your insight, however, I had installed the 1,17.x and had been playing for several days. This happened while I was in the midpack, and not just checking in so to speak. My system is afflicted with an old video card and I don't even have $50.00 to upgrade it. I have to work on a much smalled screen than my 1920x1600 monitor/TV. I think I am about in the range of 12" x 9".
It is a pain and I am working on commercial servers which means I am constantly checking my malware/virus each time I log in, and on some of these servers, a 10 minute stretch is an over exaggeration. They are trying to put these higher mod packs exactly where 1.7.10 was and it dont work.
Well, later and I will keep the staff informed on the progress of the repair of my signin.

It sounds to me like you have 4 separate issues that need to be handled individually and not considered connected in any way.

    1. Java issues. Java as a programing language has not been maintained by Sun Microsystems for many years. It's currently maintained by Oracle Corporation. When you see an error indicating something in java.sun.com it's basically telling you that something caused an error in one of the core modules. The best solution for this would be to completely uninstall Java and re-install it from an executable downloaded from the Oracle website. Don't trust any other source.

    2. Sign on issues. I don't understand your problem based on what you said. You said you Can't sign into anything other than these forums, but then you said you Can sign on to Microsoft. Which is it? If you Can sign on to Microsoft, then you can sign on to your Minecraft account.

    3. Malware issues. Like I said, don't trust any unofficial sources for your java downloads, including anything that says "Sun Microsystems." I can say for certain there is no malware in the MYM launcher or on any cookie this forum page delivers.

    4. Hardware issues. Not much to be done here if you can't afford the upgrade, but unless you're running into RAM issues with the newer packs you should be okay.

Also: Version 17 of java is actually more recent than 1.8. You will want to have BOTH version installed on your machine so that you can play Post 1.18 modpacks (Java 17+) and Pre 1.18 modpacks. (Java 1.8.*)

I hope this advice helps, and please elaborate on the sign-on issues. Someone might have used the malware you found to steal your minecraft account. I hope that's not the case, but it's possible.

    1. Java was reinstalled just now. A new copy of 117.07. Did NOT help with the problem of me not being able to sign in at MYM. 2. As I stated, I am able to sign in using my Microsoft account sign-in at ANY a set of mod packs Except MYM. Here is where I received the error... nowhere else. As for number 4, I have set the RAM to 8 gigs which should run these programs. I am running DW20 at a lower FPS than I would on MYM but it is still able to keep up if I use a lower resolution with a much smaller screen size approximating q 9" x 15" monitor, With this I get a standard 28 FPS. If I need to up my ram size for the new programs, then I do need to know what is the minimum that the system expects as I have 16 gigs in my system.
I think that it was a case of a shared connection in the instant before connecting to MYM is where the problem lies. There can be nothing to be done about it. I contacted my internet specialist and he informed me that this instance CAN happen when two parties hit an intersection at the same time and that malware can be passed in as little as .054 ms. Most networks work on a basis of 0.1 ms and I suspect that MYM is no exception. These connections happen so fast that only malware can pass, so I am not worried about the account theft issue.
Till Staff, can look at the logs and determine just exactly what the problem is I will have to just wait on that to get back to my home.

Not sure what 117.07 even is. For modpacks that run on a minecraft version before 1.18 you will need this:

Java Archive Downloads - Java SE 8u211 and later

Scroll down till you see this:
    upload_2023-5-31_2-39-17.
Install the windows x64 .exe version.
    upload_2023-5-31_2-40-20.

For modpacks that run on minecraft 1.18 and 1.19 you will need this:
Java Archive Downloads - Java SE 17

Now I'm TOLD that you can use any version, but I'm running 17.0.6 on my windows machine and am able to use the MYM Launcher to connect to their modpacks just fine. So scroll down till you see this:

    upload_2023-5-31_2-45-48.

And install the windows x64 version.

    upload_2023-5-31_2-47-32.

Install the MYM Launcher. Update the launcher to version 4.4.0.5. It will look something like this when you're done updating:

    upload_2023-5-31_2-49-52.

Select Options and click on the Java tab. Select Java 17.0.6 as your Fallback Java Runtime. The only JVM argument you should have will be 1 line Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true :

    upload_2023-5-31_2-52-59.

Since you have 16 Gigs of RAM total I'd set Min memory to 2048, Max memory to 10240, and PermGen to 512. I have 32 Gigs of ram so you won't be using my settings...

If you follow these steps you should be able to load the following packs using the MYM launcher:

    Stoneblock 3
    FTB Skies
    Direwolf20 1.19
    AllTheMods 8

To load any other pack you will need to use Java 1.8 as your Fallback Java Runtime:

    upload_2023-5-31_3-1-25.

Again, I'm sorry if this isn't super helpful to your situation. I'm just sharing what has worked for me when I've had issues connecting.

I have no doubt about you being correct but as you can clearly see from this screenshot : upload_2023-5-31_7-29-19. There is a lot more than you bargained for. It makes no matter what modpack site I go to, I can sign in and play. This is FTB Stoneblock 3:

This proves that I can play on other servers... just not MYM and I am not sure why. My logins ANYWHRE work ...just not here. The staff has to take a look at this as most others have hit on the same things that you have brought to the table and corrections have been done along the way but in the end ... This is something for staff only. They have a group of programmers that can figure it out.
    Thanks for trying anyway.

Can I get the full error log this this?

Where did you get java? Can you tell me the exact version of your java? What version of java did you set when you launched the launcher? How restricting if your ISP, VPN, anti-virus? All of these is information to help you.

Basically the error you are getting that the launcher can't get the correct certificate. Any number of things can lead to this. Which is why we have to ask so many questions.

My bet is that you are not allowing your anti-virus give the MYM launcher access to your firewall.

That is a damn good bet. After checking the firewall connections, I have JAVA cleared but not MYM. So How do I do that?

Im using a simple Win 10 treatment on an ASUS rig WITH 16 GIGS available for programs. Although that is a mote point. I was able to add
MYM to the program with no trouble after searching for it. I retried the launcher and nothing changed. I am sending you a copy of the log that I have been able to get.

Note| This log is several weeks old because I simply forgot how to do logs like that. At my age, I can barely move for the spina bifida in my lower spine, it makes for a happy medium, But nevermind that I can give you an updated log, hopefully, it will show parts of the actual sign-in process that can show the Sun Error. I am interested to find out where it came from because I do know all about Sun as I worked for a subsidiary of theirs way back in the time machine. The only thing missing is the dog, I think Peabody was right. I digress. Logs: See below. I am unable to give you a log of the Sun Error as I can't find where it creates. It does state to send the log along with other information (which I am unable to obtain) to an address that I can't find. If I click anywhere on the error it drops out and I am left with a typical error report file. Trust me... I would have already cot this fixed if I could read the original error. I think that part of the confusion lies in the way Orcal labels the artifact files. 117.7 is 1.17_07. Note that the next time you are on Orcal.
Next is the ISP. I live in the projects and they closely guard what service provider they want to allow. At this time I have the option of Centurylink, which only has a 1Gig service in the projects. If I lived anywhere else I could have 100Gig service offered by the same company for not much more than I am paying now. The reputation of handling service works is poor. They have recently sold internet and phone service to a new company that still uses the same trucks, so no real difference.
I do not use a VPN on any gaming network. Using a VPN can get a lot of "will not connect" errors. I do have a VPN, but it is off when I am connecting to your site. As far as my malware and antivirus program I use Malwarebytes for both as they even handle the virus checker. BTW , I never have a problem when I am on. This is unusual and I would like to see what caused it.

What server is this on? You seem to be logging on fine then disconnecting. Moving you to spawn, or removing player data, may help fix this.

Try what you might, but until the sign-in error is eliminated, I fear the worst. This happens on any server I choose to log into. Without my Microsoft clearance, nothing happens. I get the Microsoft clearance then go back to MYM to ... error... Why won't the MYM server allow me to log in to any of the servers? I wish I knew. I have just reinstalled a clean copy of MYM and I hope that it clears up the problem.

Sorry, SSDD I hate to say. I can still log in to Microsoft, FTB, and others. MYM must have it out for me. I'll retry in a couple of days.

I recently found out what causes this with someone on our Discord and we managed to get it to work with the following
    1. Uninstall your current java 8 from your computer.
    2. Re-install java 8. The person who fixed this used Latest Releases | Adoptium which I highly recommend since you don't have to sign up to get and lots of people in the business use.
    3. Delete the MYM Launcher installation. This is located %appdata%<.mineyourmind
    4. Run the Launcher exe file again

Thank you for your assistance. Even though I was not able to use the different JAVA to get in, once I had deleted all traces of JAVA 1.8 and was able to still play on the public server, when I found 1,8 again, I downloaded it and the proof is in the game. Thanks again, and I may be able to get that other JAVA to work now that I am back online. Please let everyone know that this problem is over and I will mark this thread as complete.
