    I started last night as a solo player. Had my "mob grinder" setup in the first 15 minutes. After 5 hours of gameplay, no hostile mobs had spawned. Here is a pic.

    the walkway is exactly 24 blocks long. I know from other people that mobs spawn on cursed earth but there are early quests that require mobs and th eloot bags have some nice items that would be beneficial if we could get them.

    Can we please get someone to look into this mob spawning issue.

    tried pressing F7 to check the squares are red?

    yes they are red and the spawning platform is 2 x 11 blocks. On the original ozzone server the platform was 1/2 that size and i had a few mobs spawn (total less than 10) but on the project server, nothing at all.

    Seems no vanilla spawning mechanics are working in the overworld. Have had a passive area set up to try and get a few cows, changed the biome to a forest biome and after something like 6 or 8 hours, not a single thing had spawned on it. My mob spawner that I built wouldn't spawn anything, even tried changing the biome and that didn't help either, but as said, cursed earth works, because that is what is in my spawner now.

    I think the spawning issue is caused by the "only the chunk you're in will work with normal speed"-thing ^^

    I don't think so. I tried standing in the same chunk, and it didn't make any difference. But you honestly don't need mob spawn enabled to progress in the mod if you know how to use NEI and have some imagination :D

    This is solved by having at least an iron chunkloader, which I have been running since day one, still hasn't made a difference. But what Riafind says is correct, you can get around it, just takes a bit longer.

    I just got home and updated my list... 8 teams and 14 solos

    @win_9000 yes the team as you listed is what I have

    Judges will be picked later in the week

    My team which consisted of myself and darkarrow_op has now disbanded. I'm now on a new island as a solo team, and I believe he is now a solo team as well.
