    Would adding in procedural generated dungeons and things like that which would be hard to kill help? with custom hard mobs and player bots to randomly walk around

    Towny type plugin could help a lot, because you wont have one type of player online and some may not want everything they want destroyed. Especially if it just takes way to long to grind. In towny could you get it so you can still pvp, people can use red stone and doors, my thoughts with that is so you can be killed anywhere but your less likely to be killed in your base so you would need to incentivize people to get out and take risks. So maybe make by having all the resources out there, maybe lower spawn rates or certain areas where they will only spawn like dropped crates?

    If we could make it so nowhere is safe from death it could make people want to make a defense, there would just be the problem that people wont make an entrance and will just contain themselves in cobble. The only way I can see around this is having a report command and having serious precautions

    I dont know, but I like the idea of having centralized resource areas for sure

    Again whats the point of playing with claims/towny if your stuff is 100% safe. Players will run back to their hidey-holes where nothing can get to them until they are safe to go out and gather resources again.

    And Chrymez. I agree that PvP does not necessarily mean raiding but whats the point of having a minecraft server for PvP if you are not building things. Could always go play and FPS game instead. The point of a PvP/Raiding Minecraft server is to incorporate the point of Minecraft: build, destroy and rebuild

    Your build is safe yes, but there can also be PvP in those areas.
    Have you never seen the nation war feature of towny?

    Im done with this conversation and idea. Obviously we have very different views on what a good pvp server is. You want to see a server where you can fly around and rob people.... i want a server based on balanced fighting, guns and bases... where you can build and fight.
    For me the ideal pvp server is either like Mianite season 1 where there is a set day when wars happen... or a controlled pvp enviroment.
    Getting raided and all your items stolen when your offline is NO fun.
    If it was possible to have claims that Auto protect when your offline but become open while online is a semi ok option.... but again, most people dont what their items stole and bases destroyed.... but they would like to pvp.

    Have you seen the youtube series of pvp packs? they dont destroy each others stuff.... they merely fight.

    ^I can definitely agree with that. My last point for this discussion is that players can do that on any server they want to. Toggle PvP on and go at it. No point in making a separate server for a play style that is available on every single server that MyM has.

    That contradicts what you said. This way players can choose how they want to play.

    PvP always in wild
    In your "safe" place your just that..... safe
    Did you even read my ideal list?
    Overworld: No ores, , Safe from PvP in your claims(if towny is used you can request war with another town/ nation... then in the towns its not safe for the time the war is)

    Farm world: only place you can mine for resources, full pvp
    that's if its a pack where its required.

    Have you ever tried to find another player on a server? The world is 7200 by 7200 blocks big. That's 51840000 blocks for you to scan, which by the time you do they will have left and if you did manage to find them any form of teleportation, including /home will make your efforts futile. Meanwhile everyone is in the Overworld sitting there with their MFR Laser Drills.

    And yes... i have found many bases in the overworld.

    /home.. make it 30 sec to teleport.

    With Towny wars... people will/should build towns and forts to fight off a war. Have you never tried this feature? You send a war threat... they accept/ decline... when the war is going... they are not safe from anything.

    Well that wouldn't really matter since they are claimed/protected and if players are there, they are safe from PvP so nothing happens there either.

    Why do you keep saying that. I will say it once more..

    TOWNY WARS. you wage war on a nation. they accept/decline. then they are not safe in their own town. or nation. Tie it in with economy if they decline they have to pay the other nation, so they cant pay for their town if they decline always, which will make them lose their protection (as long as its not a nation of like 10 people challenging a town of 1)
