This was already answered in multiple other threads.

The fact that there has been multiple threads about this clearly shows that people still think it is an issue and that any previous answers on the matter were unsatisfactory.

The most recent thread previous to this was this one which never actually got a response from staff, and then the next one I found previous to that was this one, which had several people suggesting navigating directly to the forums instead of going via the homepage (which I already explained is faulty logic as the homepage is the first place new users end up), and several people suggesting adding a cookie so that they player remembers its previous state, and then the final post was @Slind admitting that the music was love/hate but that a rewrite of the homepage was planned just a low priority (though that was 8~9 months ago) and clearly there are still plenty of people who hate the music and want it removed..

So the fact remains that the music is still a problem, and I've yet to hear a single reason why it shouldn't be removed, so frankly you just saying "This was already answered" isn't good enough.

I made a post about this when I first joined the Mym network. to this day when i search Mym and accidentally click the homepage instead of the forums button i verbally say the S word and back up as fast as I can. (I usually avoid swear words when ever possible)

I like the music, but I agree, turn it down a bit. First time joining I got freaking jumpscared by it.
[doublepost=1506391803][/doublepost]I don't see why it would be that complicated to edit it, it seems like it'd only take 30 minutes to fix, at most. And obviously enough people want it, I mean fewer people wanted global chat, and that got done. why not this?

Early 2016 (maybe even earlier) I started working on a new website. More than one year ago, was the last time I really got to put time into it. This is a video from this time:

The music is moved to the sub page, which lists all the modpacks.

Unfortunately I was never able to invest enough time to finish it, mainly due to it not being something that we "need" and there being so much we "need".

If we have some people with extensive php and javascript knowledge, I would be more than happy to hand it over. Unfortunately the people that took it over - in the past - failed miserably. (It is not a simple php script, you would need more than the basics and around 50 hours)

I didn't mean any disrespect by saying it shouldn't seem that complicated, that's just me not knowing anything about website design. A lot of us assumed it would be a simple matter of just changing one line in like a config file.

I have no problem with the music choice but I will agree it is way to loud.

knowing basic Java and Php, changing the Volume shouldn't be hard unless its hard coded in, in which case... (Why... would it be hard coded in...) Yes it would take a bit of time to do so but it would be a nice change.
Love the music but it should lower, or at least fade in and not be a
    BOOM MUSIC

I'm hoping something actually gets done instead of being shoved under the rug

I think you misunderstood the intent of my post, I only referenced that you mentioned about a site redesign as that was what you said in response to the previous thread about the music... Honestly I don't have strong feelings one way or the other as far as the site design is concerned so if that is still a low priority then that's fine, the only issue being discussed here is the music player itself, and specifically the fact that it starts playing at full volume as the page loads (compounded by the fact that the first note is such a forceful DUUNNNNN).

If nothing else think of it from the perspective of a brand new user who is looking for a modded server and finds a link to MyM through ftb-servers/etc, so they click the link and the homepage starts to load and then suddenly without warning they get a massive blast of noise in their ears from the headphones they happened to be wearing... what do you suppose their instinctive first response would be? look around the page trying to spot the player so they can pause/mute it or just close the page to make the horrible noise go away, and then look for a different network that doesn't have ear shatteringly loud music on its homepage instead.. congratz you just alienated a potential new user before they even had chance to look through the site itself!

Welp anyway... In the interest of being pro-active I have attached a quick edit of the theme I made with a slightly lowered overall volume and a 10s fade-in which could easily be substituted for the current file.

Thank you. I'm an all or nothing kind of guy. I didn't even think about changing the source file. The current website does not utilize javascript (all those fancy buttons are pure CSS3), hence it is not possible to do a fade in and the volume tag is broken in chrome and firefox.
Here is an example of the tag doing nothing:

Our lord and savior: Slind, everybody.
I make mistakes like that all the time. but this one hit me as so obvious I couldn't figure out why nothing has been done about the music before with many posts about it.
Is it "Fixed" now? or will it be at least?

Not fixed. The fade in is still not here.
