They are supposed to. In the promised land I have seen birds spawn but not pechs. Also in the magical forest I have not send them after half an hour of waiting for one.
So just my two cents: I have my base in a magical forest. There are pechs everywhere (at least 2 in my "neighborhood" and dozens in my mob grinder system). I haven't seen any difference between before- and after SirWilli enabled mob-spawn (I'm assuming he enabled them in the promised land?!) Btw. I'm playing on monster north. In /quarry I haven't seen any pechs either. And on m_east I haven't even found a magical forest.
So you wouldn't mind if I went and grabbed one would you? Also would they spawn if I make my own magical forest with silverwood trees?
I don't mind, they are free to grab. But I have no idea with the silverwood trees. in theory they should spawn, since the biome is changed. It might just be a low possibility since the converted biome is very small (you have to light up the space/caves around it, so only this tiny biome is able to spawn mobs) And even then, skeletons, zombeys etc are spawned with a higher rate than pechs (or the rates are even, but there are more "non pechs" then "pechs" to spawn?!).
Well I got one anyways. Not sure if the manmade biome would work but it might as I am trying to transform my base to be a Magical forest biome.
