Implemented Thaumcraft Research - Annoyingly repetitive.

Took me a min. Yeah, might be a while. I heard that he had a computer issue, but meh.

 

for the love of god, please turn the research to easy on hubris. this pack has like 10 thaumcraft addons......
you could spent weeks with researching allone.
Its fun once or MAYBE even twice. That was half a year ago though ;-p

 

on packs with addons I think it should be easy for the main thaum research, but the addons should still need the minigame, as some are less common. not sure if it is possible tho

 

why would you need the minegame for the addons?! it does not change a bit...

 

because some, are not in every pack with thaum, so many people would not be repeating it alot, I know for a few ive only done them in prior versions of thaum

 

you dont memorize the the research... you memorize the patterns so you can do any research.
even addon research is not different in any way.

 

There is a way to make it so that you need the research points to unlock it but don't need to do the mini-game. I think it'd be nice if we could vote on that because so many people have done Thaumcraft MANY times. I dunno, it'd be nice but not positive on everyone's views. Is this 'Easy Mode' the thing that I'm talking about? I'm not sure if it is or not.

@knoxz i knock off research so fast normally that it doesn't matter, it's not boring if the time it takes to do it less than a minute

I HAVE been doing it for over a year, that's WHY it's so Tedious.

 

Tedious yes, Hard no.
There are site that tell you how to do EVERY research. It is annoying to do it over and over.... its why i stopped doing thaumcraft.
I personally can complete all of thaumcraft in about 6-12hrs... depending how bored i get or if i can access the Deep dark.
I did it on Dark trilogy when it first came out in like 5hrs.... but i rushed it.

Too bad there is no way to "prove" or track players that have completed the book before, then enable the "buy" feature for them.

Yeah that's the main problem. I mean I use a program that paths out the stuff for you because at this point I'm too bored by it to do otherwise, I've been doing TC4 since the 1.6.4 Horizons. I think honestly if we could do some form of plugin, it'd be nice, but verifying that one has done so would be difficult. Perhaps if players have unlocked 'Kami' on previous servers it could be unlocked or something? I don't know if records of that are kept, or even made, but I do know there was a command '/iskamiunlocked' so if there is a record of that saying 'yes' for a player, than maybe something could be done?

 

As this is there. That means somewhere there is something that defines it and could probably be saved somewhere to be accessed on all servers. Or you get a Cheat Sheet. But then theres the issue of giving that away.
