A foot is a poor substitute for the meter and strangely enough is defined so 2.54 centimeters is an inch, and 0.3048 meter is equivalent to a foot. I cringe when my fellow citizens of the United States use imperial units in chat and all the foreign people have no idea what is going on in terms of units.
